Thanksgiving # 4

I was going to plant my pansies today but I'll have to do it another day because it's raining.  It's one of those nice gentle rains that sounds so comforting when you're sleeping and the window is open.  I made my Gran's oatmeal cookies, so I hope you have time to stay for a visit and have a cup of tea and a cookie ( or two)

Let's use the red dotted teapot.  It looks so nice on my black tole tray.

A cup for you and a cup for me.  The flowers are from my garden.

I'll pour yours first.

And one for me.

Now let me tell you what I am thankful for today.  Last week we flew to Texas.  I have this habit of fiddling with my ring and as we were walking down the hallway at the airport I suddenly realized the diamond in my ring was gone.  I had just gone to the restroom a couple of minutes earlier and recalled having banged my hand against the door in the stall as I closed it .  So I rushed back hoping that's where it had fallen out.  I wasn't sure exactly which stall I had used, so I randomly picked one and there was my diamond lying on the floor!  It is a very tiny diamond from the engagement ring my husband gave me when we were just college students and had no money, so I was surprised I was even able to see it.   It symbolzes 43 years of marriage and I am very thankful I found it.

Thanks for stopping by today and making a dull day cheerful!

  2. Rhondi, thank you for having me for tea this morning. You home is always so beautiful and welcoming. A visit here makes me feel relaxed!
Glad the diamond was there waiting for you. My husband was in graduate school when we married. He took his wedding band off to wash his hands while at school, walked away without thinking about the band, and when he went back to look there was a sign: Lost something? Enquire at Office ###. Ring recovered. I've always been thankful for that thoughtful person who took the effort to get the ring back to its owner.
Have a beautiful day, Rhondi. Enjoy some quiet time inside while the rain continues. ~ Sarah

  4. Hi Rhondi! Love your story, so happy you found it! My mom lost her diamond once, while folding socks, did not find it again till the next fall when she got out a pair of socks to wear, unfolded them and there it was! We can find blessings just about anywhere! LOL! Your tea party has inspired me to have one of my own today. Thank You!

  8. Thank you so very much for the beautiful cup of tea! You are so very lucky to still have beautiful flowers. I've been out in the cold wind gatherin' seeds for next spring before I clean out the beds. It's gonna get down in the 20's tonight...I am very thankful for a nice warm home to come inside to.

God bless you sweetie and have just an amazing day!!!

  10. Wow! Good that you noticed the diamond missing in time to go back and look. And then to find it still there is a praise. Similar thing happened to me a couple years back. We think the ring slipped off as I pushed a sweet grandchild's swing in her backyard. We combed the yard, but the ring did not show up until the following summer's bright sunshine. Felt undressed for 6 months without it. I'm glad you found yours. And thank you for the lovely tea and cookie. It is always a treat to visit with you.

  11. I loved coming to tea and having you tell me about finding your diamond. That is so wonderful that you were able to locate it. My band has 5 little diamonds in it and Don gave me mine 44 years ago so I know how special it is to you.
