We were in Cape Cod. Many of you guessed New England but Angela at Love Being a Nonny was the only one who said Cape Cod.
These pictures are in Chatham.
I would have loved to buy all this china. Prices were too steep for me.
Window boxes were everywhere.
Cute little signs tempted you into the shops.
There were huge hydrangea bushes everywhere you looked.
Flowers in abundance. Isn't this lavender fabulous?
We stayed at a house in Dennis. This is a home in the neighborhood where we stayed.
You can't be in New England without having lobsters and steamed clams!
The best time of day was sunset at Breakwater Beach in Brewster. The tide goes out really far and you can walk very far from shore. See how small the people are and you can walk out much farther than that.
Here is my family "posing". Our oldest son and his family weren't able to join us, but at least we had one of our grandchildren with us. I'm taking the picture.
Good bye Cape Cod. We loved you when our children were young and spent many summer vacations there with them and you helped us make some wonderful memories again.
Rhondi xo
Hi Rhondi....Cape Cod is one of the places on my list to visit one day! Looks like you had a wonderful time! Pretty photos!~Hugs, Patti

What wonderful pictures...We just got back from Martha's Vineyard...(I did 2 posts with similiar pictures as yours)....but I think I would have rather gone somewhere on Cape Cod..I love that you had a lobster dinner...nobody would let me do any cooking..I was very upset about that...I was hoping to go and spend my days making chowder...Didn't you just love all the beautiful flowers everywhere...I was in photography heaven...
ReplyDeleteOh Rohndi, it sounds like you had a wonderful time. How nice to reignite those wonderful memories and to have your family - as it's grown - with you.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll come and join in the fun of Summer Sundays!

Hi Rhondi, It's a long way to Cape Cod from (old) England but it's a place I'd love to visit. Lucky you. Love the blue and white china. Prices a bit steep......very clever play on words! Eli x
ReplyDeleteRhondi,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great there. My Uncle used to live outside of Boston, so we got to go to The Cape several times when I was younger.
Have a great time!

Did you have some Chawda too! I love how beautiful the gardens look close to the shore.
So glad that you had good weather.

What a great place to go for a holiday with your family, Rhondi. That beach looked so inviting! I'd have been tempted by the china too, but I love a bargain too much to pay a steep price - I'm with you there!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! Everything was fun to see and then you get to those plates of lobster! Just that would be a fun quilt wouldn't it? It looked like a cartoon they were so big. So glad I found you again. Love Cape Cod, was only there was in my life when I lived in the NE but your beautiful pics bring back memories. Hmmm the lobsters!! Yummy. Love to eat them but despise cooking them myself as I cannot bear to hear them squeal when you drop them in the pot. Beautiful flowers, love the cute signs at the entrances to the shops. Thanks for sharing your vacation with us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to vacation. The ocean, all the shops, good food. Maybe, one day!
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi!
ReplyDeletethank you so much for that lovely visit on my blog!
We had a great day at Mia's! She is just as lovely and generous as she appears in her blog :O) And her garden, oh my, it's impossible to digest all the colours and smells. I never get tired of studying all the colourful flowers :O)
I see you have a great vacation in Cape Cod. I love those houses and the atmosphere that appears in your pictures. Wish to visit there sometime :O)
Hope you have a wonderful day!!

What a fun vacation, Rhondi! I just love the bright red geraniums in their white containers! They simply can't survive very well in our summer heat...I miss them.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! I have a serious New England lust, but I haven't been able to get back there for nearly 20 years. Sigh!
ReplyDelete~Angela :-)

ReplyDeleteTake me next time! Wonderful photos. Thanks for taking us along. ooxx`jodi
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to spend on vacation with your family! I would want to buy all the blue and white china too! And the hydrangeas are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have never been but it looks absolutely fantastic. What a fun time, great food, fun shopping, beautiful flowers and buildings and I adore your sunset shot. We did that about 10 years ago in Hawaii with a professional photographer with all of us holding hands. Three years ago we had grown as a family and tried to do it ourselves with a tripod and it would have turned out but my teenage son had messed with the camera so when we got back and looked on the computer everything was grainy! We just turned it sepia and made it look artsy.
