Hi
Oh, I'm so glad that you came to my porch party! I was wondering if anyone would come since I haven't been blogging very much this last year.
Oh, just hold on a second while I go and get the flag to put out. I always love the look of a flag. To me, it makes a home seems more welcoming somehow.
This year I kept the porch very simple: just the rocking chairs, a couple of ferns, the birdcages and a wicker chair and tea trolley. It's going to be another very hot day, so I made us some sweet tea with plenty of ice.
And I know you like my lemon squares, so I made them for you too.
Sometimes when it's just me, I like to sit on the porch and read. Right now I'm reading The Distant Hours, by Kate Morton. She is a very good author and I loved The Forgotten Garden, which was the last book I read by her. This one is good too.
Did you notice this wicker chair by the front door? I love wicker! You probably know that already. This is my newest purchase and quite old. I found it on Craig's List!
It was in excellent condition. All it needs is a cushion.
And it has this little pouch on the side to hold magazines or a book. Isn't that cute?
Well I hope you have time to stay and chat. I have missed having visits with you! I want to know everything that you're doing: do you have any projects on the go...plans for the summer... new grandbabies on the way? We have one the end of July....number 5!
I am SO GLAD you came today. My door is always open and my porch is always ready for visitors, so I hope you'll come back again real soon.
If you are joining the party with your porch today just sign in below. Make sure you link to the specific porch post not your general URL. To do that just double click on the post title.

ReplyDeleteYum.....sweet tea and lemon squares. I can feel the pounds attaching themselves to my thighs already, but I have to say I'm enjoying your treats!!
Hope you have tons of folks sign up for your party. . . it's such a fun time!

ReplyDeleteRhondi, I apologize. The post I linked is an incorrect link. Can you please remove it because it has nothing to do with porches. So sorry for the inconvenience.
ReplyDeleteI will check back later and post the correct link. Ginger

ReplyDeleteYour new chair is fabulous - and what a great find.
I'll definitely sit a while, and you know I want a cool glass of tea and a lemon bar. Lemon bars are my favorite!
Thank you for this wonderful event.♥♥♥
Hi Rhondi!
ReplyDeleteYou have a very warm and inviting porch ~ perfect place to enjoy lemon bars and iced-tea :)
I linked to your party with a patio post... kind of like a porch if you just turn the house around to the front.
Such a sweet place you have here. Looking forward to perusing many of your posts!
Kindly, Lorraine
Hi Rhondi!
ReplyDeleteLove the porch, the new wicker chair is so charming! The magazine holder will come in so handy:>) I have pressed glass goblets just like yours. I hope to get my porch together tomorrow, if you don't mind me being late tothe party. In the meantime, have you checked out my cottage flag pillow give away? It would sure look cute on your porch!
Hi Rhondi, I am so sorry to miss your porch party today. We are vacationing in Maine in our RV and having a wonderful time. I have been posting about it. Come and see Maine. Smile.
ReplyDeleteYour porch is as lovely and gracious as you are. I like my tea without sugar but I could really dig into the lemon squares. Mmmmmmmm. Your new wicker chair is so nice. The magazine holder is a real bonus. I also enjoyed looking at all the porches in your previous post.
Happy Porch Party. I do miss you Rhondi but I know your job keeps you mighty busy.
XO, Jeanne
Thanks, Rhondi! Your porch looks great. I love that new wicker chair -- what a find!
ReplyDeleteLove the porch party. You have 2 of my favorite things: lemon squares and blue anything! The wicker chair is divine, especially with the side pocket. That is quite unique. I'll just sit a spell in the rocking chair and we can fan ourselves in this heat!
ReplyDeleteBeckie in Brentwood, TN
I don't think I'm going to get my porch up there this year, Rhondi - too many other things have got in the way and it is in no condition at all to be viewed! I'll enjoy going to all the links and looking at pretty porches - and yours is lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh, Rhondi, coming here to your porch is almost like going home. I have attended all your parties that I can remember and no way would I have missed this one.
ReplyDeleteYour front porch is what MY front porch wants to be when it grows up.:))
Love, bj
Thank you for hosting the party this year!!! I didn't have time to do much to get my porch in order so I borrowed my neighbors porch. I'm loving the lemon bars!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your new wicker chair with the book/magazine holder. I am also a fan of Kate Morton's books and have enjoyed each one. Had hoped to invite everyone to my own porch but we are still waiting for our deck staining crew to show up & spruce things up & all the summer furniture is still stored away...sigh.
ReplyDeleteI will have fun visiting everyone's though - save a lemon bar for me!
Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteI love your porch! Such pretty furniture....the rockers.... the wicker chair which is stunning....
Just beautiful!
Hugs,
Debbie

Your porch is gorgeous too!! I'm going to link with you! THanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteHad no idea you were inviting us to a porch party this year Rhondi, so I've missed it I guess! Being away in the UK again I dropped behind with visiting blog friends and leaving comments, trying to catch up now.
ReplyDeleteAnyway dear, happy day, happy Summer - hope you, like me, are handling the heat, it's brutal every day and staying home seems the best place to be.
Love and hugs - Mary
I've been hearing all about your porch parties everywhere I go in blogland, R-hondi! So sorry to have missed it...maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteI've visited you before but now I'm your newest follower, too. Love your style!
fondly,
Rett
I hope I'm not too late in joining the party, Rhondi~Blogger was giving me fits and wouldn't let me upload photos!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thank you for hosting such a lovely party..I am enjoying seeing everyone's porches and yours is just delightful!!
Blessings,
Myrna
LOVE the idea of your porch party! White wicker, rocking chairs and ferns are the best:)
ReplyDeleteRhondi, you have the gift of hospitality for sure. I loved this post and your new wicker chair with the magazine holder is just lovely. We had an opportunity to buy 2 rather fancy wicker chairs at a recent yard sale...$5.00 for each or both maybe. Hubby voted me down....they had a bit of coming undone on the edge of the seats. Still usable for the summer I thought.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your welcoming porch. We need new aluminum rails on our small porch...hubby wants colonial but we are a brick ranch! Wood would be nice maybe....have a happy day, I see you have lots of company for your porch party.. Thank you for the uplifting visit.
I LOVE your porch! I've always loved porches with lots of rockers. It seems SO welcoming! Yours looks so comfy!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend,
Hugs,
Donna
the porch looks so fresh and pretty.
ReplyDeletei love kates books, really enjoyed that one too. just read the mermaid garden, its chic lit, but i liked it, i think you read on of her books too~
