It has been such a hot summer here, day after day above 90 degrees. I am so ready to be done with the heat! This morning it was finally a little cooler and I could open the windows for a little while. What a relief!
Do you remember when I showed you these chairs I got at a yard sale?
Well I FINALLY finished making the slipcovers!
I need to get a bigger table to go between them.
Did you notice I put a tray out for tea? Hope you have time to stay for a visit. We have so much catching up to do!
Another thing we did this summer is put our house up for sale. We have decided we'd like to get something smaller with less yard to keep up with . There's just the two of us and we don't need so much house anymore. It is a charming home but doesn't have all the granite and upgrades that everyone wants these days, so it may not sell at the price we want. Some of you will notice we painted the dining room yellow. I miss the red , but thought it was better for resale. Here is the virtual tour.
If you know anyone in Charlotte who wants to buy a home, let me know.
Glad to be back!
Rhondi xo
Congratulations on your new grand baby! Sounds like your summer was full of fun and excitment! Now I'm off for that vitual tour. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteRhondi, I love your slip covers - if you lived closer I`d be asking for lessons!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the house sale. Your place is lovely and presents like nothing else on the market, I`m sure. I`m presently looking at houses in the city, and it never ceases to amaze me at the state of the places we see by appointment.
Best of luck - and please stay in touch!
Your chairs look so elegant Rhondi. I am glad you are back now!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new Grandchild!
ReplyDeleteI love the slipcovers you made they look perfect on those chaises.
I hope you had a good relaxing summer. I also have not been posting as often as I once did because there was just so much happening this summer that kept me busy, busy, busy.
Hopefully with the cooler weather on the horizon I can get back into a routine again and keep up with blogging!
Take care and have a great day!

Rhondi, your home is gorgeous! I would hate to leave it, but I understand. Your slipcovers turned out great! I have yet to try it but I am saving it for winter project. Good to hear from you, you were missed!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in NC I would buy your house...I would!
Rhondi I love all your quilts and the two pillows on your new white chairs are beautiful! I am new to quilting and have been bitten by the quilting bug. I just started a blue and white quilt for my Mom as a Christmas gift.
Your slip covers are perfect! Congratulations on your new grand-daughter Live is "grand"
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
We sure have missed you, though a new grandchild cretainly trumps blogging! Congratulations! Your home is so full of charm and so beautiful, I am sure someone will fall in love with it quickly. Not everyone is looking for granite countertops:>)
ReplyDeleteAll it will take is one quilter to walk through the front door and see all the lovely quilts you have in each room...she will sign on the dotted line that very day!
ReplyDeleteRhondi your house photos are beautiful. The sunset is a great way to end it all! I loved your house the minute I walked in it--of course it felt familiar as I'd seen it on your blog! I hope it sells soon for your sake. Nice to see you posting again and your chairs look great! congratulations on the new grandbaby! Glad you've had such a good summer!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new granddaughter! Good to see you back! Your home is lovely. Choked me up, too. We know the feeling... This was my twentieth move, though, in thirty years of marriage. Change is good.
ReplyDeleteFantastic...Did you use a tutorial or make up your own pattern? I am so impressed with your work. Please ellorabate about your process of doing this! Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYou're home is so beautiful Rhondi and best of luck selling it. Someone will be very happy to have it.
ReplyDeleteI had a quick question. How are the dishes hung on the walls? One of my friends had beautiful dishes on her dining room walls but she used Liquid Nails and glued them on! When it came time to sell her home, she took the plates down and most of her drywall too. It was an expensive fix.
(sorry about the delete -I had a few typos)
Rhondi, glad you are back. I always enjoy your blog. Congratulations on the new grandchild, you must be very proud. Your house is so pretty and I hope it sells quickly if that is what you want. Shannon
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the grandbaby. I love the chairs. I wish so much I had the guts to do that.
ReplyDeleteYou did a super job with the chairs, Rhondi. And good luck with your home....it's a tough time to sell. I know, 'cause mine is on the market too!
