I am up very early this morning. It is still dark out. As I write in my journal I think about this day called Thanksgiving, a day in which amid all the eating we take time to be thankful. It will be very quiet here, just our two younger adult children with us. The guys will watch football and the girls will decorate the tree. We'll sit down to the typical turkey dinner with all the trimmings and we will take a few moments to share what we are thankful for.
Some highlights of this year that I am thankful for are a new baby in the family and another on the way, good health, safety in an accident, and God's provision in a bad economy.
What are you thankful for today?
Happy Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteLife gives us so much to thank our Lord for, and I try every day to think about that.
I hope you have a wonderful day with your family. I will be feeding our crowd today as well.. and it wont be quiet!! I think I'm thankful for the noise... (ok.. just trying to convince myself that the noise is a good thing! ) it is.

It was lovely to read your Thanksgiving Post, Rhondi. We are so lucky to live where we do - we should give thanks every day for the accident of birth into such plenty! I hope you enjoy every minute of the holiday with your children.
ReplyDeleteHello Rhondi
ReplyDeleteYou posted on my blog..betty.wiseheartedwomen.blogspot on something I wrote on fear. I have been having a hard time leaving a comment on your blog. This is the third try.
First let me say it is refreshing to see others
close to my age blogging.
(Some years I have to dig a little deeper to be thankful, but there is always much to be thankful for.) This part of your blog struck home to me as I have had my times of digging deeper to be thankful.
I am extremly grateful this year for the fact God does not view age as we do...He still looks at the heart no matter what frail body it lives in.
I will be stopping by often as I think I have found a wise hearted sister who I can gleam from. Blessing my sister
Oh yes, love the pictures and the music.
Belated Happy Thanksgiving, Rhondi. This was a year to 'dig deeper' and yet I was thankful. So thankful that we have survived some very tough times and He hasn't let go of our hands. And thankful for what we have when so many have nothing!
