More daffs blooming.Right now you can still see the path where we just walked. It is part of the greenway sytem that reaches right up to our backyard. It won't be long before the path will be completly hidden by all the leaves.
This precious little flower is poking up through the leaves. I can't remember the name of it.
Nearer to our house is this amazing shrub called Edgworthia. It sheds its leaves and then blooms in the winter. Here is a close up of it. I just got it last fall and am told it will grow 6 to 8 feet tall and wide!
The flowers almost look artificial don't they? There has been a frog croaking loadly by our little pond in the front yard. Let's take a look and see if we can find him. I haven't been able to spot him because as soon as I get close he becomes silent. See, he stops as soon as we get near. Look at the reflection of the dogwood tree in the pond. Isn't that beautiful?
Right outside our side door, Candytuft greets us.

Pulmonaria can't decide whether to be pink, purple or blue.
This double daffodil is showing off her unusual bloom
and the hyacinth are giving off that wonderful fragrance.

Come inside and I'll make us a cup of tea before you leave. As soon as I open the door the sweet fragrance of a hyacinth I picked yesterday will greet you. Mmmm... it smells wonderful!
Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed having someone to walk with today!

Oh, I enjoyed our walk together. I needed to get out and enjoy the spring flowers and the outdoors. Maybe next time we can find that pesky frog! Thanks for taking us along with you. It was gorgeous today. ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteA beautiful walk -- though your spring is about 10 weeks ahead of mine... maybe tomorrow, I'll share my walk. Ransom and I bound through the woods daily... It would be a shame to waste a day, no matter where you lived...
ReplyDeleteWelcome Spring! What a lovely post. Jennifer
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful walk with Spring bulbs in bloom. Our gardens are still covered in a few feet of snow and it will be a while until we see daffs and tulips. Have a great day Rhondi.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful walk - you have so many things blooming! I love that Edgworthia shrub. I made a note of it - I'll have to see if it'll grow here (NC can't be that different from GA).

Hello Rhondi - Yes I am still alive, my son shouted up to us late last night that we appear to have broadband at last. So I will be back in the blogland at last. I have missed ebay so much as well as I need a dresser!! I can go on for a few mins at lunch time at work but you know what blogging is like you read one blog and then go off on a tangent to a new one and on and on - reading new peoples blogs. Anyway I will hope to post more often now and get some pics on, though all my flooring is coming up this weekend for gas central heating to be fitted. Thank you for missing me!
ReplyDeleteWow Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteYou live in an amazing place.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
Rosemary
That was wonderful! I adore your little pond. Is it filtered in any way? We are still waiting for winter to loose it's grip here. Thanks for sharing your lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I picked a hyacinth the other day too and the fragrance is wonderful. Spring is beginning to pop!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Donna
Absolutely beautiful. Nothing like the "high desert" in California where I live...enjoyed my little walk with you...

Oh Rhondi, what a beautiful walk through the woods! I just can't wait until things come out from under the snow here and begin to grow let alone bloom! Spring is my favorite time of year:>)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice break for me to take this walk with you. What are your temperatures like there right now? We actually had a few snow flakes yesterday which was so exciting. It is a grey wet day but that is okay as I inside sorting and organizing the mess in my quilt studio finally. My bulb flowers should bloom soon here.

Beautiful photography! I love daffodils and miss them here in Florida. I don't think I've ever seen a double daffodil!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
I have always got time for a walk through the woods, what great colours. The little yellow plant could be a celandine? x
ReplyDeleteA picture of celandine from my garden, on my garden blog, and a lovely poem by William Wordsworth, all about this little yellow flower. Hope you have time to pop over? x
ReplyDeleteOh, how beautiful! I am so looking forward to spring -- thanks for the tease!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Mary
Thanks for sharing these wonderful spring pictures with us!
