When my sister came to visit she brought me a present: a new mailbox that she painted for me! Isn't it bright and cheerful?
She even took off the old one and installed the new one! Aren't I a lucky girl?
I had a wonderful time visiting with my sister. She is a very talented artist, so while she was here I got her to paint a sign for our house. If you've visited me before you may recall that I decided to give our home a name "REST AND BE THANKFUL". Here is the sign she painted for me which I am going to place above our front door.

There are a few things blooming in my garden. I'll take some photos of them today to show you.

I love the sign and mailbox Rhondi!! I used to have a sign over my dining room door that I had painted that said, "Never Enough Thyme." I love little touches like that. They make a house a home! Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your sister! I have not seen my sister in about 6 years now. I sure miss her! We do talk often, but it's not the same as being with each other in person!
ReplyDeleteIn England the postman shoves the letters through the letterbox in the front door. A lovely decorative postbox would be much nicer, more homely snd easier for postman.
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky to have my sister only 10 miles away. I love her to bits even though we have our little spats occasionally. Apart from Keith she is the only person on Earth who knows me almost as well as I know myself. I'm truly blessed.
love, Angie, xx
She is indeed talented and you are indeed fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful sister, sweetpea.
ReplyDeleteSmooches,
Connie
I have a mailbox like that right in fromt of our stoop. We are not required to have them, but when we bought the house, it was here. That is just beautiful. I love it. You are giving me ideas. The sign is so nice too. What a talented sister you have. Glad you had fun.

What a beautiful mailbox and sign! Our mailbox is actually buried under several feet of snow at the moment with only the door accessible:>P I am thinking I will replace our mailbox in the spring with something beautiful like this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty mailbox - and what a kind sister!
ReplyDeleteI remember when you talked about naming your house - isn't it lovely to have a sign now? I had one made by a blogging friend,http://unpeuloufoque.com/index.html
and I just love it.
