Fun To Look At

Today I just want to show you a few colorful fun things I saw while we were away.
We stopped in Savannah for lunch on our way to Beaufort and ate at Soho South Cafe. The colors in this painting on the wall made my heart happy. If the girl in the painting had a blog I would be a fan for sure. Oh and the lunch was great too!We visited a couple of shops in Port Royale which is just next to Beaufort. Don't you love the colors on these?
This store in Port Royale was really fun too.

A metal bench with metal flowers behind it sat on the front porch.
Inside the "kitchen" section of the shop
A fun window display. I wanted to take home that yellow table that had chairs to match.
Isn't this planter cute? Definitely an idea worth copying :)
A wind chime made of pots and pans hung outside.
Next time I'll take you for a stroll through Beaufort and show you some of the beautiful homes. Wait until you see them. They are amazing!

Meanwhile today I am starting to machine quilt a king size quilt , a big job that I'm not looking forward to, but I've put it off for as long as I can. I've got some relaxing music playing which I hope will help and I plan to take lots of breaks.
What are you doing today?

Rhondi xo

  6. I love it all! Those little painted shops are so beautiful! I love the window boxes too. I'm gonna have to make some of those and hang some of my old china on them. I'm running out of ideas to use all of my dishes! Thanks for the idea!

  13. Rhondi, these were beautiful shots. It all looks like so much fun. I haven't been to Savannah in a long time but I use to consign my items in a shop called The Emporium, in downtown near the main square. Everyting was handmade and I always found such neat things to bring home.

I really love the little painted shops.

  23. Hi Rhondi, nice to meet you. Yes, that quote is from "Streams in the Dessert" I have had that book for years and recently picked it up again. It's new all over - love how God does that.

Lovely places you stopped at - love all the yummy colors!!!

    Blessings,
    Mary

  25. Hi Rhondi! You've got your work cut out for you. Muscling a king-size quilt through a machine must be a bit like arm-wrestling an elephant. I like to save the big projects for winter so I can do them by hand and hide under them while I work! The quilt photos are beautiful. Are they your work? Good luck with your project. I cant wait to see it!

  29. This place is just oozing with whimsy! Look at the mismatched chairs - I love it! And the other stores and displays are just screaming fun! The colors are bright and cheerful, and the decors too. I love the bench with flowers and the kitchen shop! What a beautiful day to spend with just walking through.

    Thank you for sharing Rhondi!

  30. What a great place Rhondi. I love the planter and the wind chimes are amazing. I'd love to try making some chimes like that...I will try to get a 'chime' rather than a 'bong' or 'clank' which might happen with heavy pots and pans. Happy quilting, Eli

  31. Oh thank you for that beautiful respite and "vicarious vacation" through your lovely images! How wonderful that you received an extra night's stay!
Best wishes on the quilt project...we are catching up on cleaning after a week of husband being home on vacation...not near as delightful as quilt-making but a good day all the same I hope!
