Back Home

Hello my dear friends.

I have missed you!

We have been in Texas visiting our granchildren.   We had a wonderful time and hated to leave.  We told them that we were leaving really early and that when they got up we would be gone, to which little Christopher replied, "You'll disappear!"  They are just so darn cute!!  You can never get enough hugs and kisses from your grandchildren.  They just melt your heart. I hope all of you grandmothers who can see your grandkids any time you want, apppreciate what a blessing that is!

So  I'm back home and I missed  all of you.  I wonder what has been happening in your lives while I've been away. I  missed reading your blogs and seeing what you've been doing and I missed reading your comments.

While we were gone Spring arrived in all it's glory. I am amazed how much everything has grown around here!

The first thing I did this morning and what I always do when we've been away for awhile, was take a walk around my garden and see what is blooming.  I picked some flowers too.

These yellow ones which I picked for  my studio grow like weeds in our backyard and in the woods.  I forget what they're called.

I picked some ajuga (which is growing all over our lawn) to put on my wicker desk. Right now we have ajuga, violets and several other little flowering weeds growing in the lawn.  They are so pretty I'm tempted to let them spread and forget trying to grow grass.  I wonder how the neighbors would react?

And some azaleas for the mantle in the living room.

I've got the dirty clothes all washed and put away and my husband did the grocery shopping, so now we are ready to relax for the rest of the day and recover from the long drive home.  Now I am just going to go and make myself a cup of tea.  Then as I read your posts, I'm going to pretend that we are sitting out on our deck enjoying the sunshine and chatting just like good friends do.

Your friend,
Rhondi xo

Loved seeing your garden blooms. I have agua blooming as well as a few other things. It's fun to snip a bit and bring it indoors to enjoy. Thanks for sharing these with us. Welcome back! I'm finally linking to Tea Party Tuesday this week. Thanks for hosting!

  12. Glad to hear that you had a wonderful trip. You are so right about having grandchildren close by. Mine are 4 hours away and the distance makes me sad sometimes.

The flowers were a great welcome home present for you.

  13. How fun! I bet you really enjoyed your time with your grandchildren. Your flowers are beautiful. I planted a lilac bush today, and while I was out walking around the house, I saw a broken azalea branch, so I brought it in and put it in a vase....

  16. So happy you got to have some quality time with family and the grandkids. We have our little JJ all night tonight. He's outside with Pop now. Your flowers are so pretty. That's one thing I don't do well here is have a flower garden. Miss that. Sigh...maybe someday.
Welcome home. Wish we were having tea together talking about our little "peeps".

  18. Welcome back Rhondi! I really missed reading your blog. We are like you...our grandchildren live over 1800 miles away from us so we only see them once a year. It sure makes leaving them hard. We weren't able to go last year so hopefully if all goes well we will be up to visit everyone this July. Enjoy your 'new' garden..we'll be looking forward to more pictures as you discover more plants that are blooming. All the best to you....Maura

  30. Hi Rhondi, I am glad you are home safe and sound. I too have been away for about two weeks. I have been home for a week now. Our grands are a very special part of growing older. I too adore mine.I am happy you were able to visit your loved ones and I know they were happy too.

I love your photos of the flowers you picked for your home. The pleasure of pretty flowers is a joy and a blessing. My mom always had fresh flowers in our home. She grew a 'picking' garden for the pleasure of having fresh flowers to bring in her home. I treasure that memory.

    Have a wonderful week.
    Hugs, Jeanne

  31. So glad you had a great and safe trip. Man, it would be so hard...so very hard to be that far from the grandkids!! Mine are 3 1/2 hours away and even that is too far!!! I hope to get up to see them next week!! Your flowers are beautiful and guess what? We had some violets growing by our back yard ditch--my hubby and I both picked them separately on the same day! It was funny--we haven't seen them here before!
