Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

I was born in Toronto Canada and lived there until I was 46 years old when we moved to the US.  Today I am thinking of all my family and friends in Canada who will be feasting on turkey because tomorrrow is officially Thanksgiving day in Canada.
We  are having turkey and all the fixings today too in honor of our Canadian roots.  Right now the smell of a turkey in the oven fills our home.  It is a beautiful fall day here, a perfect day to be thankful.

So to all my Canadian friends, Happy Thanksgiving!!

  1. ...........and Happy Thanksgiving to your too, Rhondi. I hope you enjoy your Canadian Thanksgiving with your US family. You're certainly one of our country's sweetest exports!
We'll be feasting tomorrow, so today the kitchen is redolent of braised red cabbage, apple cake and pecan pie, all in preparation for freeing up the oven for the bird tomorrow.

  15. Happy Thanksgiving Rhondi. When we lived in the Bahamas, we celebrated their holidays as well as our own. I could eat roasted turkey any time for any reason.

  19. Hi Rhondi, I am glad you had a happy Canadian Thanksgiving celebration. After that many years, it is very much a part of your life. You get to celebrate turkey day twice. Smile. The smells of cooking and baking on Thanksgiving is wonderful. My house smells good tonight and all I made was meatloaf. HA! When it is cooler these smells are so much a feeling of being happy at home, cooking for those you love.

    See you on saturday.
    Hugs, Jeanne
