Just Some Fun

One of my favorite designers is McKenzie Childs. I got to hear a talk by Victoria McKenzie Childs several years ago and she was as colorful and delightful as the items they produce. This teapot is one of my favorites. I would love to own one some day.
By the way their studio is featured in the newest edition of the Where Women Create magazine.
I always thought the items they produced were pretty wild. Until I discovered Mary Rose Young. Look at the colors in this chandelier! It might not be your cup of tea, but isn't it cheerful and whimsical?

And how fun would it be to sip tea from these teacups?

Or have a cup of coffee from this mug...

This teapot looks like it would be right at home at the Mad Hatter's tea party!My laptop is being repaired so I am using a different computer. I can't download photos here or look up my favorites , or access my email address book. I feel very handicapped, but at least I was able to post something today even though I can't use my own photos.

Something To Brighten Your Day

Good morning

There is a blogger named Lucy who lives in England who makes beautiful afghans and other amazing things. Her blog is Attic 24 brighten your day. This collage is from her blog. Her blog is just full of color.

I Can't Help It!

When I look at some of the wonderful all white interiors on other blogs I just love the calm clean feeling they have. But when I try to do that in my own home....Well all I can say is I love color!!

Our bedroom is very peaceful, soft blues and lots of white, but the rest of the house looks like a box of crayons.

Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries

Do you ever find that all of a sudden you have a collection of things, without intentionally collecting them. On the weekend I bought some fabric with cherries on to use for trim on some pillows I'm going to make.

As I was putting the fabric away this morning I saw some other cherry fabric I'd bought a while ago. Then it hit me: I have an unintentional collection of cherries. So I made a little vignette of all my cherry things for you to see.

A candleholder (50 cents at Goodwill) which is trimmed with one of my favorites patterns: black with white dots. Actually I love polka dots in any color!

Cherries on a plate. $1.00 at Goodwill. Cherries on a purse. The label says Kate Spade but I don't know if it's real. Anyhow it was on $1.50 at Goodwill. Cherries on fabric.

Cherries on a little flower pot trimmed in another of my favorite patterns: black and white check. I also like red and white check and blue and white check! I think I got this at a garage sale for $.50 or $1.00.

Now that I have all these cherry items will I be on the lookout now for more cherries and want to add them to my collection. I don't plan to, but I do find cherries very cheerful and might just end up acquiring some more. Unintentionally of course!!

Checks

I love checks, especially black and white, blue and white, and red and white! They are so crisp and clean looking. Just some random shots I took around the house. I also love polka dots, but I'll save that for another day.
I am off to Wing Haven today( the garden where I volunteer) to plan the plant orders for our fall sale in the nursery. Here in NC, the fall is the best time to plant new things.

Sparkle

Hello friends. Glad you stopped by. It was very dull today and then all of a sudden this afternoon the sun came out and I noticed the way the sun reflected and sparkled on this crystal biscuit jar which was sitting on the island in the kitchen. So I walked around our home and took photos of some other things that sparkled in my home today as the sun was shining in. Crystal on the windowsill.
