Yesterday at church I talked to a man who is 84 years old. He was wearing a baseball cap that said "Veteran of World War II and so I thanked him for serving his country. It was such a small thing but meant a big deal to him! We spoke about freedom and how it's not free. So on this Memorial Day let's all remember those who gave their lives in service for our country and thank those who have served in the past or who are still in active duty. They deserve our thanks.
Please come back tomorrow when I'll be having a giveaway.

Hi Rhondi. I'm glad you spoke to the man. You know, there's probably not much that could have made him happier than to know your appreciation.
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is gorgeous. I need to learn how to do that.
Yesterday I sent an ecard to my aunt, the widow of a US veteran. I heard back from her right away - she was so glad to be thought of. We have Remembrance Day (or Armistice Day) over here, but I think it's nice to have a day to remember the current serving members and those who have given service in peace time.
ReplyDeleteGreetings....wonderful mosaic...I can never get enough flowers so I am loving everyone's floral mosaics.
ReplyDeleteI think we take so much for granted and with so many anti war sentiments flying around it is good to thank the men and women who have committed their lives to the military service.
It's a bank holiday over here, although not Memorial day. I try to remember those who sacrificed their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom daily. It is an ongoing battle that they fight. We must never take it for granted.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures! We have a long line of military men in our family and I am so appreciative of them and all those that serve.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day Rhondi,
Sharon

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you thanked the man with the WWII hat. So many people would have passed right by him without a word, and I'm sure your thanks meant so much to him. Your mosaic and your flowers are beautiful. laurie
