Aren't the lines of the tureen pretty? hosta
sweet woodruffWhat a lovely way to while away an hour on a Sunday afternoon. I think we all need time just to relax, enjoy the quiet, listen to the birds or daydream. All those things nourish our soul. In this busy life we all live, we forget to stop and be still sometimes.

Did you have a chance to be still for awhile this weekend?
Rhondi xo
I like the lines of the tureeen, what a perfect vessel for the plants you chose. I too love to listen to the birds every morning, so I take a stroll in the parking lot at work. Last week I spotted a Robin (one of my favorite, they are just short time visitors). Have you tried using one of the candles that keeps the mosquitos at bay?
ReplyDeleteThe tureen is beautiful! I love it filled with plants more than with soup:>) I did get a little down time this weekend. I spent it blogging and visiting my blog friends yesterday afternoon after lunch out with friends from church:>)
ReplyDeleteYesterday I was feeling fine when I first got up. I went outside and weeded one of my flower beds. It needed it badly! It was peaceful listening to the birds sing. Afterwards I came inside to get ready for church(afterwards I was suppose to go to a wedding shower),anyway the weather got really bad all of a sudden and it started raining and hailing! I didn't know that it was suppose to get bad weather. I didn't watch the news that morning as I normally do. I started hurting all over with Fibro because of the weather. I ended up spending the rest of the day in bed. I tried to read and even watch a movie but I was in so much pain, I ended up taking medicine and going to sleep. I feel much better today. I'm up listening to the birds sing and looking at a few blogs before I have to get dressed for work.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good peaceful Sunday. I love your turreen with the plants in it. I agree with you about the mosquitos! Try the citronella candles, they help some.
Hugs,
Lee Laurie
I feel like I had a bit of quiet time just reading your lovely post. The tureen was a wonderful find. I really like the way you finished the floor of your porch. Is "floor" the right word to use when speaking of a porch?..........
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely front porch you have! I spent some time reading this weekend also, but did it inside as it was a bit chilly out. Need to work on our front porch desperately!!! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi, Rhondi, thank you for dropping by! I know, this blog thing has gotten so overwhelming for me that I don't have time to keep in touch with everyone the way I used to.
ReplyDeleteI love your white tureen planted with those beautiful plants. That is my new obsession, white tureens & I've found some good ones recently.
Good morning Rhondi!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea for your tureen - I've picked up so many great ideas from your blog, and will now watch out for an old tureen for my veranda table...from the Carolinas to the coast....love it!
What a lovely relaxing moment on your porch Rhondi. Your tureen is beautiful, I have a blue and white Spode one in which I put winter hyacinths.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI love to relax and read my gardening and decorating books too. Your front porch is so pretty and soothing.
Enjoy your day,
Elizabeth
I have a back deck and tiny lawn for relaxation. But you know -- I think I may have just enough room on the front porch for a rocking chair as well. And no, I didn't get much of a chance this past weekend for relaxation. So, I'll have to take advantage every evening this week. Pretty tureen.
ReplyDeleteI was very busy this weekend as in any weekend but I love your porch, very peaceful....can I come to your house next Sunday?
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI love your white tureen and it looks so pretty with the green plants. Your porch is lovely.
Hugs,
Donna
Hi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to porch sit for awhile.
I love your tureen and great idea to fill it with plants from your garden.
Carolyn
Get one of those mossie lanterns so you can still enjoy the porch. Love the header photo and the quilt in it.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. We all need a spot like that.
ReplyDeleteYour idea for the tureen is great. I love rocking chairs and your front porch looks very inviting.

I always enjoy looking at my friends favorite links. You are my fried Brenda Klomp - Just a bed of Roses - Farmington Utah.
ReplyDeleteI love your yellow and blue and white. Something I've always wanted to do. I've changed over the years. I've kinda turned into a fall person.
What a wonderful tureen! I love the green plants against the white of the tureen. Are you having your blog porch party this year? I am trying to get my porch in order - lol.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny

ReplyDeleteJust lovely Rhondi. It's always a feast for my eyes to visit you. I love the new header photo.

So nice to sit and "be" on sundays. To enjoy all that is around you. To take time to "see" it. Thanks for the reminder!
