Due to someone leaving comments on 20 posts at a time in Chinese I have to activate the word verification for a little while. I know it's a nuisance but I don't know how else to get rid of this person!
Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully it will only be temporary.
Rhondi xo
What a nuisance Rhondi. There has been a spate of this recently. I hope you wont have any more trouble.
ReplyDeleteRhondi, you can do it simply by "approving" each post. Then you won't have to use the captcha for word verification. That's what I do, sugar.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Connie
Dear Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you have to deal with this! I too had activate the feature a few months ago. Although it is a nuisance, it gives me great pleasure to "foil the stinkers" and it is so worth it to keep in touch!
Have a glorious Holiday, Chris
You are not alone. They have been coming to my blog too. How sad that spam has to hit blogland.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
I've been doing what CONNIE suggested. No word verification...just delete the comment instead of approving.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays, Rhondi!
Jan
I love your header, Rhondi. The Shelley china is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about the spam. I just always wonder what these people could do if they put their energies into something positive.....
Have a wonderful holiday.
Carol
Wishing you the best of holidays ... without spam.
ReplyDeleteI have been having a greater problem in the past few weeks also. I simply use the comment approval. Most seem to be on older posts and since I check my comments several times a day I can easily catch the ones on new posts. Maybe they will go away after Christmas?
ReplyDeleteI've been getting them too! I'll try the word verification for a while see if it stops. They usually put them into new and fairly new posts and then I find they've been playing about in old and even very old entries. What idiots!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what is going on but I'm hearing about more problems than ever with blog spamming.
ReplyDeleteI have comment moderation and for the first time I can remember (in 3 1/2 years of blogging), I have spam to reject almost every day.
I hope it was nice chinese. Good luck. I would just keep the word thing on all the time. It is no bother.
ReplyDeleteYep, add me to the list of bloggers who is on the receiving end of all these spam comments too. I started getting hit almost daily about 6 or 7 weeks ago. At first I tried using word verification but ultimately took it off after a couple days because I know most readers hate it. Instead, I'm using the comment moderation on posts older than 7 days, since most of the spam I'm getting seems to be targeted toward the older posts. I wish I understood why there has been such a sudden increase in the unsavory comments (often linking to porn sites or places to buy male "enhancement" products). Isn't it just a shame we can't blog in peace?
ReplyDeleteYikes! WHO ARE...not who is..on the receiving end... Sorry, I need to proof read better. :o
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi! I've been getting these too and I'm just deleting them.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Me too ... very irritating.
ReplyDeleteYou know what? I have word verification and I still received about 10 chinese comments today.
ReplyDeleteHEY, THAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO. I JUST IGNORED IT, BUT MAYBE I SHOULDN'T HAVE.
ReplyDeleteHUGS FROM MAINE
Hi Rhondi
ReplyDeleteWhat a bother! I hope that the spammers move on to other mischief.
Oh me, I got one of those too and I just thought it was someone leaving a comment in chinese. I tries to translate it with the computer and it didn't do anything.
ReplyDeletei'll be smarter next time, thanks for the heads up. The Apronista site was hacked into by a smammer also last week. Damn stupid criminals, wish they would just get a real job.
I've had that spam too. I moderate comments over 7 days old now since it only seems to happen on older posts.
ReplyDeleteI get that from time to time as well Rhondi. It's very annoying and those links lead to porn. It's so discouraging to think that there are such horrible people about. It does take a lot of time to delete them as well. Very annoying! I added word verification, but even that doesn't stop them from time to time.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was hit but only once. It is very sad we have to deal with such a nuisance. Stinkin' spam anyway. I just wanted to pop over and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with His blessings.
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya'll!!!
count me in with the same jibberish, if you moderate your older posts it really helps~
ReplyDeletejust wanted to wish you a very merry christmas and wanted to thank you for sharing your great pics at food with style, THANK YOU!
I don't understand why people do this. Your blog is such a lovely place to visit. You need to do whatever is necessary to keep from being a bit bullied.
ReplyDeleteWanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2010.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Nancy
