Thankful Thursday

The situation in Haiti has been on my mind a lot this week and as I watched the TV, I was thankful for:
a roof over my head
hot and cold running water
a safe place to live
my family is all alive and well

I am also thankful for:
many beautiful sunsets and sunrises this past week
gorgeous spring weather yesterday
bulbs sprouting in my garden
robins  in our yard
our son is going to help me with some painting today

One last thing I am thankful for today is the gift certificate for Anthroplogie that  I won from Erin at The Painted Garden.  I finally went shopping there yesterday and this is what I got: a beautiful tea towel with embroidery and applique on it.

Here it is opened up so you get a better view of it.  Isn't it cute?

Little bird salt and peppers.

 a beautiful small bowl

and a mug with my initial.

and I still have a little money left over for next time!  These are # 650-659 in my one thousand gifts goal.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Tragedies like the desperate situation in Haiti do make us slow down and appreciate the most simple, basic, and dear things of life. And also call us to care and pray. I am thankful as well for lovely sunrises and sunsets that persist with each new day (like hope).

I love the goodies you got at Anthropologie. Isn't it the neatest store?

I am so happy you are having good weather. Send some to the Midwest!! ;-)

  7. I so agree with you about being thankful, especially in light of the horrible situation in Haiti--and elsewhere, for that matter.

I've said this before, I think, but your blog is one of my very favorites. Your home is SO lovely; it and your posts display the warm and gracious woman of God that you are. :)

  11. I am thankful for every little thing I take for granted until I see the horror that so many people go through. Unimaginable what Haiti is experiencing. How can I not be thankful for the life and happiness I have?
