Here is a thought for the day from Mark Twain:
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Rhondi, Your deck is fabulous! I love how you built it around the trees. We are also enjoying the rain in NJ. The garden just being planted will not need watering for a few days. Lovely post. Susan
ReplyDeletewonderful quote and oh so true..
ReplyDeleteLove your pics sweetie!!
God bless..Deena
What WONDERFUL world
Rhondi, that quote is oh so true!
ReplyDeleteYour deck is to die for girl! That space is for dreaming and playing......WOW!
You captured such a lovely scene with the dogwood petals on the dark deck!
ReplyDeleteWe had a deck with holes cut for our tree but the tree outgrew the
deck and pushed it up off the piers. I so miss it.
What lovely photos of your garden. But even beter were the previous ones of your sitting room. How I love the quilt.
ReplyDeleteCan I come sit on your deck? I don't care if it rains or if the Dogwood blossoms fall all over me. What a peaceful, serene setting for your home. We are 'enjoying' rains here in Oregon. And they are messing with the Spring blossoms on the trees here, too. ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteExcellent quote!
ReplyDeleteYour deck looks so inviting...I'd sit out there in the warm rain...might even dance a bit a la Gene Kelly (only not nearly that skillful!)
What beautiful pictures! The blossoms DO look like big snowflakes! I love your deck, BTW. We got drenched too with rains and I'm so glad the sun is out today.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Love the thought for the day by Mark Twain.
Hugs,
Donna
My first time visiting your lovely blog. I found you on Suzanne's side bar and I'm glad I did.
ReplyDeleteYour home and deck are so pretty, I just love all the woods surrounding your place, and those dogwood trees, oh my, beautiful!!!
I'll be back to read more about you in North Carolina-- :)
Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog from Marie's Year From Oak Cottage Blog. What a wonderful magical little world you love here. It seems very comforting and sweet. Very inspirational!
The Blonde Duck
That Mark Twain was a smart man. I love this quote Rhondi. There is a similar one by the late President of my church, Gordon B Hinckley . . . I think he said that when he looked back on his life (he was 92) he was not so much disappointed in the thing he had done, but in the things he had failed to do. I guess it is the same thing actually! DOH! I loved your deck. The air is full of the petals of the hawthorne and may blossom over here right now. Breathtakingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful, tranquil deck you have..I would love to be there now just listening to the birds.
ReplyDeleteCarol xx
What a beautiful view you have from your deck. It looks like a haven for birds & birdwatchers.
ReplyDeleteWe got a little rain but not enough to bring our may flowers I don't think. We will have to wait and see.Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi:-).
ReplyDeleteI could get lost in thoughts, dreams and books on that deck:-).
Have a fun day!
Great photos and great quote. I love the trees being incorporated into the deck construction...looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteRhondi,
ReplyDeleteNow watch nature green green up.
We have had almost too rain. Several surrounding towns are still damp and flooded. That I don't like....But I love a spring rain, YES I do! And your speckled deck is just a shower gift from above!!!!
The rain has been wonderful, hasn't it?!
ReplyDeleteI love the quote and the song.
What a gorgeous deck, and the woods are stunning. This quote is wonderful too. It rained very hard today, but it was cold enough to make you want to sit by the fire. I can't wait for the warmer weather but I so appreciate the rain. Trees are blooming overnight. Blessings, karen
ReplyDeleteThe rains have been most welcome! But here in the mountains of NC we are suppose to be getting frost tonight! So out I went to cover my peonies and lilac....I haven't planted my tomatoes or basil yet thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote!
Hugs,
Penny
They do look like snow flakes. So pretty! I love the quote.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI love that way those look. So pretty.
Thanks for sharing, and I love the quote too.
