What are you up to today? I am going to visit my daughter's kindergarten classroom this morning which should be fun. I have heard do many stories about the kids it will be fun to see them in person.
Last week when I took you shopping with me and you saw all the beautiful blossoms I bought something at Goodwill and I said I'd show it to you later.
This is what I got for $3. At first I thought it was a real paint by numbers but on a closer look I think it's just made to look real. Anyhow it just spoke to me. I love the old fashioned feel it has, the rich color of the roses, the blue vase and blue and white plate.
Here are some close ups. See how it looks like paint by numbers. It even has some texture, but I think it's fake.
We have 2 rooms waiting to be made into guest rooms. We haven't started yet because mattresses are so expensive! Right now we use one of those inflatable matresses if we need it. When I begin to decorate the rooms I think this will be my inspiration for one of them.
Did you ever do paint by numbers when you were young? I did. I'd be curious to know how many others of you did it also.
Hope you enjoy the day. Rhondi xo
I never did PBN, but I did color by numbers a lot as a child...usually when ill and confined to bed (a frequent occurrence). I can understand why my mom would not allow me to get out my paints! LOL
ReplyDeleteI think your painting is a great find. Usually I check out the frames on pictures at thrift stores (always on the hunt for nice frames) and rarely step back to actually really look at the picture. If I had seen this close up, I would not have given it a second glance because of the PBN appearance. But from a distance, it is very pleasing. What a good eye you have...and yay that you found a 'keeper'!
Beautiful painting, Rhondi....and such great find! Morning in the company of little ones can be lots of fun! Enjoy your kindergarten experience :)
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day
cielo
Yes, I did Paint by number when I was a girl. I have a clear memory of many horses - that was my passion then!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your room will be beautiful when you get started on it - those colours are perfect!
What a pretty painting Rhondi! It does look like paint by number. I used to paint by number all the time when I was young, my Mom and Dad would buy me the kits.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the kindergarten class!
Hugs,
Donna
Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI like your painting...I certainly would have carried it home with me....Betty
I'm a huge fan of the Goodwill and this art piece whether paint by numbers is special for sure! Great find! Thanks fo rhsaring and stopping in to meet our lady Love Squared. Have a fabulous day, can't wait to see what you find next. Art on, Monica :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty painting.
ReplyDeleteI loved doing paint by numbers as a child, although it was pretty clear that I wasn't going to be an artist!!! :)
Hi Rhondi!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter-in-law is a kindergarten teacher in Denver. I helped out once all day in her classroom and had to take a nap when we got back to her house as I was exhausted! The kids were adorable and so full of energy!
I love the rose picture ... if it a "paint by number" then artist was very good. I did a few PBN as a child but they never came out as good as I hoped they would. It was still fun to do though. :-)
Are those your dishes in your banner? So pretty!
Hugs, Pat
Rhondi, that is very pretty...I love the colors, and I can see why you took it home with you. I used to do paint-by-numbers, too (and that was about the extent of my artistic endeavors!). I remember doing a painting of a white persian cat with a yellow background.
ReplyDeleteBTW, my sister is a first grade teacher...they definitely are all angels!
I think it's a great find.
ReplyDeletePaint by numbers or not :-).
Have a wonderful evening!

Rhondi, I'm loving your newest find! It would go very well with all of my rose pictures (lol)! We must have similar things on out minds. Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteYes I did paint by numbers as a child. I thought I was quite the artist.

What a beautiful find! I did paint-by-number and oh, how I wish I still had a couple of them. It was always fun to watch my picture develop and become a 'real' painting. ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteI did them! I loved painting and colouring-in! I am looking forward to seeing the 'guest' room.

ReplyDeleteI painted by numbers when I was small as did my children...fun fun fun...

Hi Rhondi, oh I do like your picture, it's very clever if it's not a real PBN. I loved it as a child, I wonder what happened to all my masterpieces, maybe someone has bought them for a few pennies in a thrift shop?

Beautiful artwork. I started a paint by number last year and never finished it. I know what you mean about mattress prices! When I bought a set last year for our guest room I almost had a heart attack. I had no idea they were so expensive!

Yes, I did a couple paint by number oil paintings when I was an earliteen. I gave one to one of my aunts and I don't know what happened to the other one.
