Thankful Thursday

DSC04153

Good morning. What a beautiful day we have here in North Carolina and today that is one of the things I am thankful for. When we walked early this morning the sky was pink, the temperature was cool and the air was fresh. It is going to warm up into the 70s, a perfect fall day.

There is something else I am thankful for. My sister from Canada has been visiting here all week. It has been such fun just to hang out together. We don't have to do anything special to enjoy ourselves, just being together and chatting is enough.

"To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's heart. We share private family jokes. We remember family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time." Clara Ortega

Today I am thankful that I have a sister who I am close to and that I get to have here in my home for a whole week!

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Hi Rhondi,
I love this post and I love sharing time with my sister. We just don't do it enough. Today I am thankful for my children. Today my son is home with me. He is out for Fall break. We have really enjoyed our time together this week.

    Hugs,

  2. Normally, I am not up at this hour but am because one of my employees does not have a very important item in which he needs to get the job done- soooooo, my husband is running it down to him in rush hour traffic.

But as I sat sipping my coffee and not complaining and not getting mad (because what good is that going to do?) I remembered- it's "Thankful Thursday!" @ Rose Colored Glasses.

    I am thankful I have a business(es) at all!

And I'm thankful that now we see that each employee should go out with these important components already in their bag- irrespective as to whether they need them or not. So we'll get the issue solved. Amen. Pass the plate.

  8. I am thankful to be sitting here in my very own home with my dogs and cats. I wish I had siblings. I have them. Just don't know who they are or where they are. Always admire those who have sisters. I think that would be very special indeed.

  14. What a wonderful quote from Clara Ortega. I don't have a sister, but I do have 2 very special brothers. I find we have grown closer as the years have passed.
The pumpkin photo with verse is super. That needs to be an applique/stitchery design!

  15. I am also thankful for my sister. She was 14 when I was born; so she played a big role in taking care of me. I've looked up to her my whole life. She is more than a friend to me.

  16. Hi Rhondi. I'm glad to read that you're having a good visit from your sister. I certainly know Havelock well - passed through there many times while driving between Camp Borden and Ottawa.
Today I'm also thankful for my sister - we've made plans to go out to our favorite tea room tomorrow.

  21. Hi Rhondi...I am so glad you posted that lovely quote...its so true, at least for me. I don't know what I would do without my sister. Next to my husband, she is my best friend. My two grandgirls are as different as night and day, and I just pray that someday they will be close...so sad to see sisters who do not share their lives with each other...it is such a special relationship. Thanks for sharing this!

    Blessings,
    Mary
