Paint Your Heart Happy

I love little inspirational books and am always picking them up at Goodwill or garages sales.  A Book of Joy by Thomas Kincaide is one that I enjoy both for the words as well as the beatiful paintings in it.  He says these words:

"Decide that joy is the hue you want your heart to be and then start making the little and large choices that over time will paint your heart happy."

So today  when I  take a break from my chores, I am making a little choice to relax, make a pot of tea, browse through a few old magazines, write in my journal and count my blessings.  My heart is getting happy just anticipating it!

What little choice can you make today to begin to "paint your heart happy"?

  1. Sadly, I don't know if my choice today will make my heart happy...until it's done! I'm STILL cleaning up Christmas! ;)

  2. Hi Rhondi,
I love taking time for the little joys in life. I will stop being busy mid afternoon for a little break with tea and a Dove chocolate piece...

p.s. Most of the sold items on my website are from before - not the sale that is going on. I leave them on for a while, so if someone wants to commission a piece, they can see what I have done in the past...so feel free to mention my 50% off sale :-)

  3. I love the quote, Rhondi...it made me smile. I may take a little nap later, I am fighting a cold that has been going on forever! If I were well, your little break would work for me as also!

  5. Love that quote! My heart is happy that I found this sweet post just before I am heading off to bed as the day is over in our part of the world. Tomorrow, I am going to craft and crochet when we get home from school and that will certainly make me happy. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week. Blessings :) Tammy

  10. Things that make me happy are: hearing from my children and having them tell me all is well and they just wanted to call and tell me they loved me; a wonderful book; an new recipe that turns out well; lunch or dinner with good friends.
I love your little private corner in the photo. My entire home is blue and white so I am charmed.

  13. Hi dear Rhondi
I too love the little books you speek off, I just bought another two the other day. They are tiny, just a good size for a pocket! I love to read them anywhere I may be. Your page here looks beautiful may I add :) as for my piece of quiet time, I like to spend in my favorite chair with a lovely cup of tea, remenising the past and making small good plans for the future. :)

  15. Thanks for the happy sentiments. I put a DVD movie on today as I folded and did mounds of laundry. It helped! Eventhough it's not all away yet, it helps to look at the neatly folded stacks.

I too believe that the snall small things that you do in day to day life and which gives you pleasure or in which you try to find pleasure , paint our heart happy!!!
For me my morning cup of tea , my midmorning cup of tea , my inspirational books , and watching travel and cooking programs ..or even when i create something new

  20. I had a long workday today, not getting home until nearly 8. What kept my spirits up was the thought of the cup of tea after supper and a little knitting. Very happy-making!

  23. It would certainly make my heart happy to do the things you have planned Rhondi! This week I am creating some things for etsy and as they get finished it is making my heart happy. The design process always makes me a bit antsy, but as I finish each item, it always lifts my heart because I only make what I love.

  25. Love that quote. I'm going to paint my heart happy today when I meet a blog friend - for the first time in person - at a new tea room in a neighboring community. Thank you for the reminder to stop in the middle of life's busy days to relax, breathe and paint our hearts happy. ~Adrienne~

  27. Hi Rhondi! If I could only finish ALL the ironing and put it all away and hide the ironing board and the iron and have the place full of that gorgeous freshly laundered smell and then bake some scones and put on a fresh pot of coffee.
