Thankful Thursday

It's so much easier to be thankful when things are going well.  Last week my husband was in an accident.  I am thankful that he wasn't injured, but the car is a write off.  Why is it you can never buy the same car again with the amount of money the insurance company gives you? And now our oven doesn't appear to be working!

But enough about that, because today I am thinking about some of the things I am thankful for.

spending this weekend with my sister who is in Myrtle Beach this month.

a stack of good books waiting to be read.

3 cashmere sweaters at Goodwill for under $3 each on Tuesday when there is a 20% discount

a neighbor and I are going to start walking together for exercise

heard little Spencer's sweet 2 month old baby sounds on the phone

our one winter snow is over and spring is on its way

my hardworking husband

and of course I am always thankul for  my kids and grandkids, who are the joy of my life!

What are you thankful for today?

Rhondi  xo

  1. Rhondi, I'm sorry about the loss of your car; but so thankful with you that your husband is unharmed. Other than the "oven thing" :( you have listed some very sweet and special reasons to give thanks. I appreciate you sharing and love hearing your heart.

  2. You know cars & ovens, they always break at the same time. That's how it goes. I'm so glad your husband is ok. Sounds like it was a bad accident if the car is history. Yikes!

  3. Rhondi, cars and ovens can be replaced, but husbands? Not so easy. ;) xo,

  5. I'm thankful for life, a warm, cozy home and kids, grandkids and GREAT grandkids but mostly for the love of my life and the Savior who promises us so much more than we have here in this life, my sweet chick. It's sooooo worth it to live a gospel centered life.
    :-)

  6. Hi Rhondi,
Sorry about the car, but so thankful that your husband wasn't hurt. I was feeling very thankful and I designed some artwork in praise. I am going to add it as my link. Sometimes when things are going wrong, I start praising the Lord and soon I feel as good as new. I guess you can't be praising and worrying at the same time. Your blog is ever gorgeous with all your bright and vivid colors.

  11. Rhondi, I'm thankful your husband wasn't injured. Cars can be a thorn in our sides, but what would we do without them? Glad you have a weekend with your sister. I recently spent time with my sister, and it's such a wonderful feeling.

  12. Good things and bad things come in clumps. I don't understand that. But it is something I'd like to talk to God about sometime. I'm just glad he wasn't injured. So many tragic things going on around me. Not with me but those I care for. Hate that. I'm thankful that a good thing happened yesterday. A very good thing but for now it is a secret. Love that teaset above on the tea cart with the red and white. Sweeet.

  13. Have had days and weeks like yours too. You sound like an amazing woman to stay so upbeat during all these hits. I usually am pretty good, but there are times, that I just get so fearful and start despairing.
Today I am thankful for HOPE, for my health, for my family, and for God's provision.
Glad your man wasn't hurt...so much worse.

  14. So sorry to hear about the accident. Thankfully the car can be replaced, but your dear husband could not. So glad that he is safe and sound. Those cashmere sweaters were a true find. Wishing you all the best as you begin walking with your friend -- good for the soul and your health. Blessings :) Tammy

  15. Rhondi,

Aww, thanks for stopping by to wish me well. I'm feeling much better.

SO sorry to hear about your husband but am thankful he's okay. Bless his heart.

I am thankful for antibiotics! And people who care about me when I don't write Entrepreneur Chick.

I'm thankful for my family and for my family's health. One family member was very ill last week and the infecion could have set in into his eye, his lungs and his brain. It was caught in time. Whoa. Very thankful for that.

"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thes. 5:18

Oh, and I'm thankful I finally finished the book of Numbers. Do you know how long that is?!

  16. Hi Rhondi,

Just chiming in to add to everyone else's comments: so glad your husband is all right, but sorry your car was totaled. :( Right after Thanksgiving 2007, our daughter hit a deer on the interstate and our car was a total loss, too. We thank God that our sweet girl wasn't hurt, but we had JUST had a ton of expensive work done on that car...that was a painful experience, lol. *sigh*

Hope you can get your oven working again quickly and without much expense.

    Hugs,
    Loretta in GA

  17. I am so happy to hear that your hubby was not hurt. I do understand about the car thing. Too bad we can't get replacement insurance on our vehicles like we can on our home and belongings in it.

  19. Hi Rhondi, Today I'm thankful for great blogging buddies and the availability to visit them...that means you! So glad your hubby wasn't hurt but I know what you mean about not being able to afford to replace a totalled car. So winter is over for you? We just got snow last night and figure we have 2 more months of snow. Have a great end of the week.
    Hugs, Noreen
