As I was thinking about what to write today an old song by Bing Crosby came to mind:
"When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings."
So as I count my blessings today, I am thankful for
the wonderful blog posts about our grandkids that their mom in Texas writes
the daily phone call from our daughter as she is on her way home from work each day
the adorable photo of our newest grandson in Boston that his mom sent us today
the used Lexus R300 in mint condition that were able to pay cash for to replace the car that was totaled
our oven only needed a minor repair
our weedeater broke and I found one the next day at Goodwill for only $5
my husband's cold is FINALLY going away.
spring weather this past weekend
food, clothing, shelter, which I just take for granted.
These are # 861 -869 in my quest toward One Thousand Gifts.
I love this painitng of a little girl giving thanks before she eats her meal. I feel like that little girl giving thanks to God for all the things he has blessed me with. I wonder... if someone doesn't believe in God, then if they are thankful for something, who are they thankful to? You can't just say "thank you" to no one.....just a thought...
So I ask you the same question I ask every Thursday. What are you thankful for today?
Rhondi xo

ReplyDeleteHello! I am new to your blog and just loving it. I am not prepared to do Thankful Thursday this week but I think that it is such a great idea! Your quilts on your side bar are beautiful. Did you make those?

Lovely post Rhondi. I'm having a thankful day too. I love the picture of the little girl.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a great post! Love the photo also of the little girl. Great reminder for us all to thank the Lord for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
ReplyDeleteI am especially thankful that I can communicate with my hubby even though he is halfway around the world. I can even hear his voice through my computer. Wonderful.
What precious and wonderful family things to be thankful for. And I'm so glad for your replacement car and simple oven fix. I'm with you, wanting to remember Who I am thankful to too.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you hosting.
Sincerely,
Stepheny
I love Bing and that song too.
ReplyDeleteI'm in and wondering if people who don't believe in God ARE thankful??? xo,
ReplyDeleteI was out of coffee for two mornings this week because I kept forgetting to stop at the store. So this morning I was thankful for a bag of whole bean coffee to grind, my red coffee pot, because not only does it makes coffee but it cheers me up in the morning. And most of all for a streaming cup of good black coffee. It's amazing how we take a cup of coffee for granted most mornings.
ReplyDeleteI posted a link but I don't think it is working . I don't know how to remove it. Do you do that or can I do it? Thanks Stella
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet painting, Rhondi.
ReplyDeleteToday I'm thankful to be moving about without such a sore back!
I hope I'll be able to join your tea party every once in a while - would that be okay? I won't be able to attend every week, but I'll be a very regular drop in if that's alright.
