Sometimes I Wonder

Sometimes I wonder who visits me here at Rose Colored Glasses and where you have come from. I have a counter so I know people visit but it's kind of like this hosta from our garden. There is evidence of a visitor, in this case the deer, but I seldom get to see them. They come and go without me knowing. I know they live in the woods , but not exactly sure where.
Our neighbor's sweet cat, Norman, comes over here a lot and hangs around. He must enjoy being here or else he wouldn't drop by so much. But being a cat, he often pays no attention to me, just sleeps under our bushes for awhile and then leaves . Occasionally he'll let me pet him, and I just love it when he does!
So this morning I am wondering who reads my blog? The counter that I have says I have lots of visitors each day, but I wonder if it's accurate. If you visit today I'd love to know and I'd like to visit you too. Sometimes I wonder.....who's out there and where are you from?
Hope you have a great weekend.
Rhondi xo

  1. Hi Rhondi, I'm stopping in for a chat and a look at your poor hostas. I do want to say that when you leave a comment on my blog, I would like to reply and comment back, but your profile isn't linked back to your blog. I just want you to know that I do appreciate your visits and your comments.

BTW, good for your mother to be concerned that the purple loosestrife is chocking out the marshes.

  5. Good Morning Rhondi!
I live in Mississippi. Though I am a transplant from N. California. I love the picture of Norman. What a nice cool area he has to visit! :o) I can appreciate the deer nibbling on your plants, we have bunnies on our property and so far they have stayed out of our garden! :o)

  7. Hey Rhondi!
I am from Pittsburgh,PA and found your blog during the Porch Party.
I hope my neighbors feel as you do about visiting cats. Mine seem to enjoy ducking under the fence to visit. They bring moles back with them, so it must be good hunting ground over there. My blog is new and just getting started so there isn't much to see on it yet. Hope you have a blessed weekend.

  8. I agree with you Rhondi. I too get visitors and wonder who they are. It is so amazing how we can reach across the world via the internet and blogging. I do so love to read the comments from visitors. You know I visit you every time you post, because you are on my google reader :-)

  9. Hi Rhondi! Well, it's no secret that I visit her, you're on my google reader so I see your posts every time you put one up:>) I often wonder about all those "lurkers" who stop and what they think or if they came to my blog by accident. Hope everyone gives you a hello so you can see who was here!

I have been visiting you for a long time, so I think you know I am from Ohio. You told me how to find the album with the last Wonderful World on it and I love it. This version is also good.

  13. I am one of your "unknown visitors" because I have yet to start a blog-- I am still learning computer and do not have a blog of my own. I enjoy visiting and do not always leave comments because I do not understand openID if I do not have a blog. I usually just use anonymous but some blogs do not have even have that. It is very intimidating this blogging when you are still getting use to the computer and lately it has been acting up with pop ups!

Rhondi - I enjoy your blog and your Porch Party and Thankful Thursday-- I hop in all the time cause I enjoy your blog! Thanks for letting me!

  22. Hi there! I don't have a counter, have no idea who actually reads my blog. Not even certain I need to know at this point. My son tells me this is a way for generations to come to know who I was and what I was about. Funny to think our words are 'out there' for eternity if we so wish to keep writing.

  23. Hi Rhondi,
I'm Rhonda, from Temecula, CA...I can't remember how I first found your blog, but I've got you on my "Blogs I Like" list and I visit you every couple of days. Weird, isn't it? How we peek into each other's lives, but don't really feel like strangers?! My blog is fairly new, so not much there yet, but stop by anytime!

  24. Before I had a blog, I rarely commented because I didn't really feel like I "belonged." (Shades of watching the popular group in high school from the sidelines.) Now that I'm a blogger myself, I find it difficult (due to time constraints) to visit and leave a comment for everyone who comes to visit me, in addition to all my favorite blogs I read before I blogged. But I do try to make a concerted effort to comment at least every few posts.

My stat counter tops out at 500 entries (the free version) so the oldest entries drop off. Because of that, it's hard to get an accurate count of what percentage of my visitors are regular readers and that's probably the one thing I'm most curious about.

Oh well, at least I can tell by the number of hits I get per day I'm not sitting here "talking" to myself. ;)

  26. Hi Rhondi,

I'm from the south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada (think Lunenburg)! The weather here has finally cleared, and we're in for a nice day tomorrow. Love your blog and love your garden! Those deer are pesky, aren't they! I used a product called "Skoot" which I sprayed on; it's not harmful to animals, and although it left spots, nothing ate my plants afterwards. Good luck! Come visit me too! I'll have some up-to-date garden pictures soon.

  48. Happy Sunday Rhondi - from good old Lincolnshire, England. I used to have a counter thing on but took it off because I couldn't make it work properly.

I'll always pop out from behind the curtains and say BOO Rhondi.

I wish we were so fortunate as to have our hostas eaten by anything so exotic as deer. It's slugs and snails that get ours!

  58. Hi Rhondi~ I know how you feel about all these things! The deer eat our hostas too - I do see them in our back yard during the early morning and early evening and then very late at night they are in our front yard.

I also don't understand why people don't comment - just to say hi they were visiting. I think most people don't.

Oh by the way, I'm from Missouri,

  59. I'm losing hostas again this year.......but to voles not deer. It's so frustrating! Love that kitty, can't you train him to chase the deer off!!!?

Just checking in......as I often do. I feel the blogging world is changing - too many blogs, not enough time to comment. Do you ever feel like quitting? According to a recent news article, many are throwing in the towel. I would hate to stop and lose touch with so many blog friends. As I told someone a few days ago, I blog for myself as a way of journaling and using the photos I love taking. The comments are secondary, however I do love to get them and ALWAYS appreciate them.

Here's so another great week Rhondi - lots going on as I'm minding my granddaughter and we are planning two big trips for July. I'll be on the road again!!

Hugs - Mary (ACROSS THE POND)
