Good morning. How are you today? On Thursday I always like to stop and be thankful. There are so many things to be thankful for aren't there..... family, friends, good health, food, clothing, transportation, freedom of speech, freedom to worship.
There are a couple of little things that happened this week that I am thankful for:
My friend Mary surprised me by popping in with her 3 month old little grand daughter with her. Mary knows how much I miss my grandkids who live in Texas. I got to hold her and feel her soft skin and smell that wonderful baby smell.
Podso, who writes a blog and lives very close to me came to visit yesterday and we had wonderful visit over a pot of tea. We had lots in common and I felt like I had known her all my life.
Both our son and daughter who live nearby dropped by this week a couple of times.
We had some much needed rain.
Then there are all the things that occur every day that I take for granted: hot water, electricity, air conditioning, more than enough food, nice clothes to wear, a roof over our heads, a safe place to live…
There is so much to be thankful for today and every day!!
I was visiting some of the blogs who are participating in Tablescape Thursday sponsored by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch and decided I’d like to join in. If you want to see some really fun tablescapes make sure you visit Susan. So here is my tablescape, all thrifted items.
Hope you find lots of things to be thankful for on this Thursday.

I have the same adorable little fat hen pepper and salt shakers. Aren't they sweet? And I love your plates -- the red on the blue. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the splash of red with the blue! And I have to agree with Sandy...love the fat little hens.

I love your header!! love the blue in white there and on your tablescape--something so refreshing about blue ad white! I love the smashing touch of red with that cute red and white pate and the little shakers are darling. Everything is so inviting.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for God's presence in my life---makes all the difference. I am thankful for the mocha shake I am about to get to take to my Mother-in-law who has alzheimers...it is a treat for her!! Have a beautiful day! Oh and thanks for your visit to my blog!
What adorable dishes. I love the combination and also them by themselves. Wish I had them! I am a sucker for blue and white. Thanks for visiting my Julia Child dinner party! Yes, I know what you mean about missing your grandchildren. I leave tomorrow to visit some of mine-hooray! Have a great day.

Have a nice day,

It looks like you had a great week Rhondi. I love the dishes and the little chicken salt and pepper. I had to tell you, I had a friend give me a huge bag of quilting fabrics from a friend and in the bottom was a book with instructions to make an Irish chain quilt in a day! How funny is that? Just when I saw and fell in love with yours:>)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cheery table setting and I'm glad I got to see your table. Tablescape Thursday is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHope you'll drop by my Kansas Home for a spot of tea...

Hi Rhondi! I've been thinking about joining in too.. I'm still just a visitor though! One of these days I'll jump right in to play along too! Love your first tablescape! Red, White, and Blue is nice considering it's 9-11 tomorrow, I think. Hopefully everyone is displaying their flags! I'm a big fan of ginghams, and I love your little salt-n-pepper set too! Very CUTE tablescape!! ~tina
ReplyDeleteJust Stumbled across your blog and thought that it was heart warming in so many ways. Keep looking for reasons to be thankful. I have found that when you have God in your life, pleasures are never hard to find.

ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI really like Thankful Thursday, and the things you are thankful are things that we all should be thankful for...many people around the world don't have them. So nice of your friend to bring her grandbaby over...there's nothing like a baby to cheer you up! Your tablescape today is just beautiful! Your blues are the shade I really like, and the way you mixed thm with red and white is stunning. Love you plate, the hexagon shape and the pattern...just gorgeous! The smaller red floral print is adorable... love it all!
Mary
