After what has been a long and colder than usual winter for us here in North Carolina, I think spring may finally be going to make its appearance and for that I am very thankful.
I picked the first daffodils from the garden.
Beautiful yellow daffodils.
I am thankful that spring comes early here.
I am thankful that the previous owner planted lots of spring bulbs.
I am thankful that I can bring some spring sunshine inside.
I am thankful for a mother who taught me to appreciate beauty
and who painted this pot of daffodils.

Wow your daffodils are much farther along than ours, just a few blocks away! That is a beautiful painting your mom did--no wonder you are so artistic! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteFlowers? Can you say jealous? March is when we get our worst blizzards. I won't see flowers for months. What a lucky, lucky girl, you are.
ReplyDeleteNecel from the Old House in Texas
Such beautiful flowers and what a wonderful setting with all the blue glassware. I'm afraid this old farmhouse we moved to last June doesn't have any bulbs planted anywhere...I'll be changing that this fall! Happy Spring to you Rhondi...I hope one day you'll come over for a visit..I'll have tea ready ;) Take care...Maura
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils too. And your mother's watercolor is so lovely!! What a talented artist she is!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Rhondi! I love that Spring comes to NC early too! I love all your blue glass and the daffodils. What an absolutely wonderful painting of daffodils you Mom painted-what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteDaffodils... oh wonderful! I love all your blue glass too. Your mother was a terrific artist. I am especially thankful for my mother this day as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this sunny, spring post.
Oh sweetie, I'm turnin' just a little green with envy here. Your daffodils are stunning, just a fresh breath of spring. At nineteen degrees this mornin' the Ponderosa is still brown and lifeless. {SIGH} You have given me hope that our spring can't be far away. You mother was a talented artist, her lovely painting speaks volumes. I am thankful for the hope you have given me today. :o)
ReplyDeleteYa'll have a greatly blessed day dear Rhondi!!!
Hello Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI love daffodils too. What a nice painting your mother made!!! Lovely.
Bye & hugs, Carolien
Your daffodils are beautiful, Rhondi and I like them in the blue vases. I am a good six weeks away from mine blooming, so I have to be patient!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday! :-)

Need some Spring here in my house! Think I will find a piece of flowery fabric for placemats to cheer up my kitchen & my soul.

What lovely daffodils. My garden outside is still under snow. It will be over a month before I see any flowers out there.
ReplyDeleteThaks again for hosting Thankful Thursday
Your daffodils are lovely! And what a beautiful painting by your Mom. Such a treasure! We have had a few sunny days in a row here in North Texas, so I'm hoping Spring has sprung.:)
ReplyDeleteThe blue glass in your window looks stunning in the sunlight. We have had a very cold winter over here in the UK too. Spring flowers are always a most welcome sight. x
ReplyDeleteYour mothers painting is wonderful Rhondi, and, golly you lucky duck, you have daffodils already!?
ReplyDeleteSpring won't be here in Idaho for awhile. Your daffodils give me hope it's coming!!
ReplyDeleteI love your mother's watercolor. That would be sunshine into any spot.
ReplyDeleteI didn't plant daffodils this year. Wish I had! I did spy some on my walk today. they were just beginning to get yellow heads. I do have some irises blooming though.
I see a daffodil purchase in my immediate future. They won't be in my yard for at least a few weeks, yours are beautiful, especially in the blue glass.
ReplyDeleteWow! You have daffodil blooms?!!! I have green shoots - and I am hopeful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful watercolour!
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for all the spring flowers that I see popping up around here. I love this time of year!
I love daffodils, Rhondi! So pretty. They remind me of my childhoood home and also of Wordsworth...
ReplyDeleteI wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
I'm thankful for the poetry of life, both the poetry of a daffodil and its ode written by the likes of someone as skilled as Wordsworth. I can remember walking in the woods in college and reading assignments involving his works. And I can remember wandering like a cloud (only I was a happy cloud and not lonely) through the fields of my childhood and suddenly spying clumps of daffodils and bringing them home to my mother by the handful.
Happy thoughts!
XO,
Sheila :-)
I love the pictures. What a beautiful painting. I know you must be so proud to have it.

Your mother is so talented, Rhondi. Do you paint or draw?
ReplyDeleteI remember so well the first daffodils, the first tulips peeking out...the forced forsythia in the house!
The bright yellow daffodils look so pretty in the blue vase. Those colors always remind me of spring time. You are so lucky to have them growing in your yard!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
Hi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteYour daffodils are lovely in the blue vase and look so nice with your blue and white. How special that the previous owner planted so many bulbs - a litttle surprise gift.
I just love your Teapot Thursday and wish I had more time to participate. Tea, tea pots and blue and white are some of my very favorite things and some of the things that are so special about you and your blog.
Have a lovely week.
Blessings,
Erin
