This week I have talked to several people whose family members don't get along. One had a sister who never spoke to them. Another had a father who was very uncaring. Another had a mother who was constantly putting them down.
So today I am thankful for a family that like each other. We all get along well. Our kids call us and keep connected with each other even though they live miles apart. We look forward to times when we can all be together and we genuinely love each other. That is a gift.
What are you thankful for today?

What a lovely post Rhondi and so true. It's a shame that not every family could be so blessed. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for my family, even the ones that are cantankerous!! They each add a bit of colour to my life and are loved very dearly by me! xxoo
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a big, loving family. I hope that we get along with our extended family when we are all under one roof. Have a good day Rhondi.
ReplyDeleteIt is said that 'you can choose your friends but not your family!'
ReplyDeleteI have been blessed - I am thankful for a family who loves each other and gets along. I forget how blessed I am until I hear of the struggles of other families and I have to give thanks all over again!

Every family has it's ups and downs, but in mine, love prevails and for that I am thankful.

Isn't it sad to hear those kind of family stories? I am so thankful for our loving and close extended family. Aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings get together every chance we can and we always love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. I am also thankful for loving and fun family relationships.
ReplyDeleteRhondi....That is most certainly a gift! You are so lucky.~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful, Rhondi. My children all get along beautifully for which I am thankful.
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I are good friends too, but our brother seems to be going his own way. I haven't seen him since our father died 10 years ago. Email once a year, maybe. We think it has to do with his wife 'cause we've never had any arguments or hurtful words. It just happens sometimes.
When I hear stories about families who don't get along, I wonder why people put so much energy in to being nasty and unhelpful. It seems to me that it's so much EASIER to be nice.
ReplyDeleteI know of m=families who can't have a holiday meal together because the just HAVE to argue about politics, or a perceived slight from 15 years ago.
Life is to short for that.
