Did you ever read the Anne of Green Gables books?  They are delightful and so was the series they did for TV years ago.  Perhaps Anne was thinking of how the maple trees turn this beautiful shade of red.  This tree in our yard looks like it is on fire, it’s such a brilliant color!!  It’s too early for this color yet. I took this photo last year.

These flowers were growing in my neighbor’s garden.  Aren’t they beautiful?  I think they are called angel trumpet.
