I Miss You!

Hi
I have missed you!  Since I started working again, there has been no time to post or visit you.  So this afternoon I am taking a short break.

I've made some tea and taken it out to the front porch and I am going to relax for a little while.  So what have you been doing the last 2 weeks?  It's hard to believe I've only been back in real estate for 2 weeks and I'm so excited because I got my first listing on the weekend!  I am really enjoying connecting with past clients, looking at houses and talking about houses.

Just a minute, while I go and  get another cup and I hope you can visit for awhile.  Help yourself to a chocolate covered digestive cookie.  They are delicious.

Now, did you know that  if you are going to sell your home or buy another one, even though I don't do real estate where you live, I can refer you to a great realtor there and I will get a referral fee from the firm that you use?  It doesn't cost you anything, but benefits both me and the realtor I refer you to.  So if you or anyone you know needs a realtor and doesn't know of a good one, please contact me and I will connect you.  Or if you've heard of a good one but never personally done business with them, you can tell me who it is.  I call their firm and tell them I have a client for them.  It's very simple.

I've hardly looked at my house, no fluffing, puttering or re-arranging going on right now, so these are photos from a previous post.  Hope you don't mind.
So my dear friends, I miss you!

Thankful Thursday

Good morning friends.
I miss chatting with you and visiting with you.  As soon as I get my real estate business up and running again, I am definitely going to make time for blogging, so just bear with me for awhile and I'll be back at it but I couldn't miss Thankful Thursday .

Today I am thankful for
beautiful spring weather
a woods to walk  each morning and the good health to be able to walk
my friend who is helping me as I start up my real estate business again
happy sound of the birds outside my window
all the amazing colors of the azaleas which seem especially spectacular this year.

What are you thankful for today?

Selling Houses

Spring in North Carolina means azaleas and dogwood. The dogwood are too high for me to cut branches , but I always have a big vase of azaleas inside as long as they are in bloom.  The colors are amazing!

I went to a couple of garage sales on Saturday and found this rooster for $2.  Just couldn't pass it up at that price!  So I thought he'd look good on the dining room table beside the azaleas and he can be a friend for my other roosters.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to visit most of you this week.  I've gone back to work as a realtor again.  You must be thinking, "Is she crazy in this market?"  Maybe I am!    I love houses, as many of you do,so real estate is the perfect job for me, but that means I won't be posting as often and I can't host any tea parties for awhile.

I love writing my blog and I love visiting all of you dear friends, so as soon as I get my work established  and get my work routine organized I hope to be able to post more often again, but for awhile it may be very hit and miss.
I'll still be visiting you when I can.

It is a beautiful weekend here.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend too.

Tea Party Tuesday

Welcome to Tea Party Tuesday. Today I want to treat you to a traditional Devon cream tea.  It is tea served with fresh baked scones and strawberry preserves and wonderful clotted cream that is thick and gloppy.  Is that a word?  Well gloppy describes what it looks like! It is delicious.

Here in the United States people think that tea has to be  fancy, but this is a typical cream tea: a metal teapot, little glass pots for the jam and Devon cream and simple white tea cups on a tray.

You can buy Devon cream in specialty shops here but it isn't nearly as good  the clotted cream they have in Devon,  so we're going to England to the little town of Lustleigh in Devon.  This is not a movie set.  It is a real town and people actually live here.  I've been to Devon, but not to this town.
Aren't these homes charming?
Primrose Cottage was on a list of the best tea rooms in Britain.

Look at that thatched roof. Isn't it amazing?
On the right hand corner of the building you can see a yellow sign leaning against the wall. It probably looks just like just like this: a blackboard with the menu written with chalk.

Here is a table set for cream tea.

and another one.  I love this teapot.

Tea at Primrose Cottage  will probably look  more like this with a simple brown betty teapot and a wood table with placemats

It's a long way home so I suggest we spend the night at The Cleave.

This is a sign at the entrance to The Cleave!  Another chalkboard sign.

England is a long way to travel for a cup of tea, but it's well worth it.  I hope you enjoyed our traditional Devon cream tea.  I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself too as you visit the other tea parties on Tea Party Tuesday.

Back Home

Hello my dear friends.

I have missed you!

We have been in Texas visiting our granchildren.   We had a wonderful time and hated to leave.  We told them that we were leaving really early and that when they got up we would be gone, to which little Christopher replied, "You'll disappear!"  They are just so darn cute!!  You can never get enough hugs and kisses from your grandchildren.  They just melt your heart. I hope all of you grandmothers who can see your grandkids any time you want, apppreciate what a blessing that is!

So  I'm back home and I missed  all of you.  I wonder what has been happening in your lives while I've been away. I  missed reading your blogs and seeing what you've been doing and I missed reading your comments.

While we were gone Spring arrived in all it's glory. I am amazed how much everything has grown around here!

The first thing I did this morning and what I always do when we've been away for awhile, was take a walk around my garden and see what is blooming.  I picked some flowers too.

These yellow ones which I picked for  my studio grow like weeds in our backyard and in the woods.  I forget what they're called.

I picked some ajuga (which is growing all over our lawn) to put on my wicker desk. Right now we have ajuga, violets and several other little flowering weeds growing in the lawn.  They are so pretty I'm tempted to let them spread and forget trying to grow grass.  I wonder how the neighbors would react?

And some azaleas for the mantle in the living room.

I've got the dirty clothes all washed and put away and my husband did the grocery shopping, so now we are ready to relax for the rest of the day and recover from the long drive home.  Now I am just going to go and make myself a cup of tea.  Then as I read your posts, I'm going to pretend that we are sitting out on our deck enjoying the sunshine and chatting just like good friends do.

Your friend,
Rhondi xo
