The other day I just had to stop outside this garden and snap a picture of this amazing plant. I think it's called angel trumpet. It is about 6 feet high and just as wide.
Isn't the color gorgeous? Each blossom is about a foot long.
Pumpkins are synonymous with fall.
I found these mini ones at the grocery store the other day. They are just so cute.
They remind me of a little song my daughter learned in preschool.
I found these mini ones at the grocery store the other day. They are just so cute.
They remind me of a little song my daughter learned in preschool.
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate
The first one said oh my it's getting late
The second one said there are witches in the air
The third one said well I don't care
The fourth one said I'm ready for some fun
The fifth one said lets run and run and run
Woooo went the wind and out went the light
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight
I wonder how many of you remember it too? Isn't it crazy that you can remember something from over 20 years ago but can't remember what you had for lunch yesterday?
I made us a pot of tea in my pumpkin teapot. Hope you can stay and visit for awhile. Got any interesting plans for this week?Mmm, that was a good cup of tea. See you again soon.
Rhondi xo
Hi Rhondi!!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are gorgeous.
I don't remember the cute little rhyme...but I do remember others!!!
We've gone from 87 and humid yesterday, with torrential rains and high winds...to...partly sunny, relatively calm winds to a high of 67 expected today!!! Summer to Fall in One Day!!! LOL!!
I'll join you for a cup of tea...and I'll bring my favorite cookies (I got them from Sarah - see my last post about a package I got in the mail)...Lady Walton, Creamy Dark Chocolate Filled Wafer Cookies!!!
~Blessings,
Jan
Good morning, Rhondi -
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of the Trumpet Vine blooms. They are just gorgeous. And the pumpkins are such a good reminder that we are nearly there - Fall! Thank you for the tea in your pumpkin teapot. Delicious!
~Adrienne~
Good morning Rhondi...those flowers are gorgeous! I love fall too...it rained all weekend here and of course, now that it's Monday, the sun came out! But we have the cool temps, which is great!
ReplyDeleteHugz,
Michele
Ohhhhh what a cute teapot. I have never seen those. I never heard that little five little pumpkin song, but I like it. I too remember some things from longggg ago. Haha. I haven't gotten any decorations out yet and not yet sure if I will. Do I really want to climb into my attic"???????
ReplyDeleteNancy
Hi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tea. That teapot is to die for. I love the Angel Trumpet. By the way, it's very easy to root. If you're friendly with the gardener, just ask for an 8" green cutting and put it in water til it gets roots. Then pot it for the winter and keep watered. Next spring put it in your yard in a spot that gets morning sun and you'll have a gorgeous shrub, too.

Rhondi, Pretty trumpet flowers in autumn hues. I can't wait to put out the pumpkins (its still a little too hot). Susan
ReplyDeleteI love your miniature pumpkins Rhondi. I was just saying to Jos that I have seen a single one of these this year for sale. The pumpkin teapot is absolutely adorable. I am starting to think of you as the teapot lady. :) Your angel trumpets are amazing! I can just see angels coming down and blowing those trumpets.
ReplyDeleteOh and can you tell my mother to crawl in that attic space and get out those decorations? LOL!
Happy Monday to you dear friend!
Hugs ~
Heidi
What a darling post Rhondi. Your pumpkins are so cute. I love them inside and outside of the house.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteThe trumpet flowers are so pretty! Love your five little pumpkins too!
I'm anxiously awaiting fall, as you are. It was 92 degrees yesterday and muggy.
Hugs,
Donna

Love the little tea pot...sooo whimsical and cute! Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi. I enjoyed catching up here. So glad your family in Houston is safe--must be a big relief. Those angel trumpets are beautiful. I will plant one in my yard one of these days. Your pumpkins are adorable all lined up on the railing.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi, beautiful pumpkins! The ones I planted never came up with any... My memory tends to fail while I get stressed...or perhaps it´s early Altzheimer, who knows??
ReplyDeleteLoved that tea!
Thanks
Liisa
I cannot believe Autumn is upon us, we are still waiting for a Summer over here! I love the colour of the Angels Trumpet, did you know that every part of this beautiful plant is poisonous. x
ReplyDeleteThat angel plant is amazing.... just gorgeous.....
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful... this morning I had to put a sweat shirt on to walk the dogs...

Hi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteAs a former first grade teacher, I well remember that cute little poem!
I love your pumpkin teapot...and all your other pumpkins too.
This was a very pretty group of pictures.
Diane
Seeing your pumpkin teapot reminded me that fall is just around the corner. We've been having a lovely Indian summer here on the coast, so thoughts of autumn have been few.
ReplyDeleteLovely cup of tea!
Such a beautiful flower. Truly an angel's trumpet. Mimi
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteI love that plant! The blooms are just gorgeous and you took such great pictures of it.
I do not remember that little poem, but it is really cute! You have everything looking so fall, its still so hot here, I just can't seem to get into the fall decorating mood yet!
Love, Ann
That song does sound familiar, Rhondi.
ReplyDeleteI love that plant. It looks like chiffon. Your teapot is very pretty.
I hope your kids come to stay with you. It will probably be awhile before they have power. We usually get some rain from the hurricanes coming from that direction, but nothing like the wind and rain we had this time. It boggles our minds, too, that Ike affected so many so far, from the gulf of Mexico!
Oh my goodness. What a be-U-ti-ful set of blue and white dishes on your header! Love it! I feel at home at your blog as well! Your fall decor is so pretty... don'tcha just love the colors!
ReplyDeletebe good,
santa
Rhondi, it's looking like Fall at your house too! It's still pretty hot here in AL, but we have hopes of some cooler weather soon. The mornings are already feeling it.
ReplyDeleteCute little pumpkins,
Rhoda
I remember learning that. I had completely forgotten about it until I read it just now. I t brought a smile to my face.gg
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi-Found your blog and love the blue and white tea set on your header. Do you know the name of this set and does it have dishes? Blue and white is my favorite and I would love to find this pattern. Thanks, Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteThe china on my header is made by Shelley. The pattern is Dainty Blue. You can usually find some on Ebay or through Replacements China. Because it has been out of production for a long time it is quite expensive now.
You should start a blog so then I could respond back to you. Hope you read this!
Hugs, Rhondi
That is the cutest tea pot! I've always wanted an angel trumpet and I bought a small one last year and it never made it. We hardly had any rain last year and water restrictions. I should have tried again this year since we had lots of rain (for GA).

That teapot is precious and I think the 5 pumpkins on the fence is soooo cute. I never heard that.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a pretty new reader of your blog, but enjoying the beauty of it so very much! Can you let me know the pattern of the tea cups and teapot in your header picture? Or manufacturer? They are so lovely!

Hi Rhondi...Santamaker (Rose) is right...those blue and white dishes on your header are stunning! Yes, I do use my porch a lot. Here in GA it is really nice from around April through October. And we always have quite a few warm days in Nov-March. You must be in the south too, if you are still getting the warm weather. It's been really nice here this week. In some ways, I'm ready for fall...but I also don't want to let go of summer. :-) Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi, Love the tea pot. The little pumpkins are so cute. I never have heard that little rhyme. I love your header with the blue and white. The first pictures of the plant is simply gorgeous. It looks so fallish too.

Hi Rhondi-Thanks for replying to my post (about the china in your header). I think I am going to look for it. I am new to blogland and right now just like reading blogs not writing one. There are some very gifted writers out there!I love the friendship that seems to exist between everyone...maybe someday. Linda
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are just beautiful. I love pumpkins, fall leaves and sweater weather. It is cooler here today, the promise of fall. Can I have some honey in my tea please. Karen
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Rhondi…. Beautiful photographs and beautiful nature scenery.... I've always dream of having an Angel Trumpet bush in my garden one day, but they don't grow here...
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day
cielo
What an amazing teapot! I've never seen one like it.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for the fall temperatures too. This is my favorite time of the year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumnal pictures Rhondi! I adore that poem and your pumpkins are so sweet! How can tea in a pumpkin tea pot not taste better than at any other time! Wonderful post to commemorate one of my favourite times of year!
ReplyDeleteI'm longing for Fall too! I just moved from Austin to Boston and I'm trying to get used to the change in temperature; I'm getting spoiled! It's 58 degrees right now and fall is just around the corner...I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are beautiful. I always think they look like dancing ladies in twirling skirts.
