The house was so full of activity and noise, so this morning when everyone left, including my husband who is gone for the whole day, it was too quiet and lonely. So what does a person do early Saturday morning to cheer themselves up? Go to garage sales!
Since it was pouring rain there was only one inside sale to go to. I found this cute little 7" canister. I have one just like it for tea and a large one for flour. Perhaps I'll eventually have a whole set of them. I also got some books. The one on top is a favorite of mine.
I just love the cover of this Christmas Book. It will look nice just for decoration.
Fall seemed to arrive without me even realizing it. I gathered up some nandina berries, paper mache fruit, wicker and a fun little red cardinal and made a little vignette for the dining room table.
I picked some solidago, sedum and holly berries, gathered up a few pieces of wicker , and put it on the center island to bring some fall into the kitchen.
Autumn has arrived here in North Carolina. We have had some crisp cool mornings. The air has that fresh smell I love in autumn and here and there many of the trees are beginning to show a little change of color.
It is so nice to chat with you again. I've missed our visits together. Please be patient with me as I slowly get around to responding to your comments. I'll drop by for a visit as soon as I can.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Rhondi xo
Hi Rhondi -
ReplyDeleteI know how quiet the house can be after family leaves. Especially the little people. I love 'Streams in the Desert' - a favorite of mine, too. The fall flowers and berries are so beautiful. I need to bring a few into the house.

Your red background is nice and fresh - goes well for fall! You're on the same timetable as I - today I took out some papier mache fruit and silk leaves, augmented them with bits and pieces from the woods and have made a cheery autumn display for the front porch.
ReplyDeleteHello, I like this little canister. I have a little plate on my wall kitchen with this pattern, it's signed " Blue Onion".
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

Hi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteThose Southern Living books are classics! What a great find.
Love your fall decor! I've been seeing some shrubs around town with orange berries...don't have one here though. Hoping my mom does...I love the way the berries look.
