Spring Cleaning

Do you do spring cleaning?  I don't do a big spring clean but I love to change things up when spring arrives. This is what our front hall looked like last week.

As soon as we start to get spring weather I want to bring some of the colors of spring inside and the front hall just looked too dark.  The bunnies can stay but everything else has got to go.

So I got some aqua spray paint and transformed this dark green table.

I rounded up some yellow books from another room and added the cute little bowl and birds that came from Anthopologie.

They look great on the freshly painted table.
Then I hung one of my quilts on the wall and voila!
When you come in our front door the colors of spring will welcome you.

Come on in and have a visit.  Let me see what else can I paint around here?

  12. Rhondi, I've been spring cleaning but haven't change anything out like this. I admire your ability to take something and paint it to change the look. I've got two wicker tables much like yours, one white and one dark green. Perhaps I should pull out the paint. :-)
I enlarged the photo of the quilt to get a better look. Love the detail of the border on this one. You do such amazing work. What quilt are you working on now?

  20. The yellow and aqua are fantastic together. You have quite the eye.

I began Spring Cleaning Yesterday. It's a chore, but I'm so happy when it's done.

One of the big jobs is swapping out all of our heavy winter clothes for spring things. Lots to be dry cleaned and even more to be washed. Then I have to clean out the storage closet and put it all away.

I have put out a few decorations for spring and Easter. I'll have to do a post about them.

You know,I usually do "Winter Cleaning", since we're home more & I see all the clutter :-S
But this Spring, we're definitely doing a wholesale cleaning...since we're moving into our very own home in April!

  30. Oh Rhondi, how sweet of you to take the time to call in with a Mother's Day greetings. My sincere thanks. What a gift it is to be someone's mother, and in your case a grandmother also. I am just one week away from my son't wedding and preparations are now quite frantic. How I should have loved to join in your tea party fun this coming Tuesday but I fear this week I will sadly have to give to it a miss. Hopefully I will be dropping by in a couple of weeks. I'm really into colour myself just now and love the shades in your post. Like you, I love my blue and white but a palette of other bright colours lifts the soul. Eli x

I wish I could do spring cleaning around here. But when dust storms are predicted for the weekend, it just isn't worth it. Have a great week. Many blessings, Tammy

  37. Rhondi, that looks so pretty!! I love that quilt! It's really got the perfect colors and feel for this time of year. Love that you changed the color of your table. I do that all the time too.

I'm not big on spring cleaning as I'm usually outside trying to get some gardening done before it gets too hot. But this year we've had so many rainy days that I've actually done some!
