First Post

 Good morning friends
It was seven years ago in November, that I wrote my first post and clicked “publish”.  I had been following  a few blogs and wanted to be able to leave comments and so Rose Colored Glasses was born.   I have always loved visiting other bloggers and having people come and comment on what I had written.  I have seldom had anything profound to say but always hoped that my posts provided a friendly place for you to visit.  It has been fun to share my home with you and have lots of cups of tea and many of you have become dear friends.
Blogging sure has changed since then.  Lots of people are making a good income from their blogs.  And there are so many more bloggers!!
Because I went back to work full time I stopped being consistent with writing posts for awhile, but I missed my friends in blogland.  It has been a long time since that first post, but I am still here, posting about insignificant things , but things that make me happy.
Things like making little hearts from recycled men’s shirts.

Collecting old buttons and stringing them together to make a garland for my little feather tree.
                                                      Cutting out mini paper snowflakes.
Here is my little tree, hard to get a good photo against the window!
Another photo, not much better!  (I need a good camera.) The tree was a present from my husband, last year.
It is exactly one month to Christmas, so let the decorating begin!!

Doodling

Good morning.  I have been having fun “doodling”.   I’ve been doodling words, sayings and favorite scriptures.  Just thought I’d share a few of the ones I’ve done lately.

This one was in my lap when I took the photo.   I just noticed you can see part of my feet!
I’ve even framed a couple of them, with thrift shop frames.
Doodling makes me happy and it is relaxing.  You should try it.  Maybe it will make you happy or relaxed too!

Come Inside For The Winter

I like to have my ferns come inside for the winter.  Some years I don’t do it soon enough and the frost gets them.    We have had one light frost, which didn’t affect the ferns on our front porch.  So I decided to not press my luck and bring them inside today.

One hangs in the window, which is very awkward to water and water always drips on the floor.
Another sits on top of the pine hutch. I chopped  off most of the back of it so it would fit up against the wall :)  I need to take a better photo tomorrow when the light is better!
This metal planter was on the porch, and it wanted to come inside too.  There were 2 ferns in it when it was outside but this one is even bigger than the others, so  that I thought it needed room to spread out all by itself.
This one is beside my chaise lounge.  It is huge!

I also brought a pink geranium inside. I don’t know if I have enough sunlight to get it to bloom, but figure it’s worth a try.

Do you any of your plants like to come inside for the winter?

31 days of Beauty and Quotes Days 29-31

Welcome to 31 days of beauty and quotes day 29.  I know I’ve missed a couple of days.  I have been having fun lately, doodling words and scriptures, so today’s post features a few of them.  You should try doodling sometime.  It is very relaxing..

                                                           GRACE, what a beautiful word.

I feel joyful just looking at this photo.
I am in a ladies’ bible study and we are studying a great book called  Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow.  This morning as I was thinking about the lesson for this week, I began to doodle and this is what I ended up with.

I am going to count each of these photos as one day in my 31 days of beauty and quotes, so that means I’m done !! Phew!!
