Hi
What a beautiful day it was. The sun was shining. The air was a little cool this morning. It was just the kind of fall day that makes me want to be busy in the kitchen. So I made my husband's favorite meal: porcupines, which are meatballs with rice cooked in a tomato sauce. I also made some chocolate chip cookies.
The porcupines are simmering in a pot and the cookies are done. While the chocolate chips are still warm and melting I am going to have a cup of tea and enjoy the new Issue of Romantic Homes. One of the articles is by one of my favorite bloggers, Kim from Daisy Cottage. What a nice relaxing way to end a lovely day.
Rhondi xo

ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect day. I am enjoying our beautiful weather so much. My husband is recovering from a recent illness and it has been so nice to sit outside with him every day and enjoy the cooler days with no humidity.
ReplyDeleteI love to make porcupines too. As a matter of fact I think I will have to make them again soon.
Hugs,
Kim
I can almost smell those cookies; I love them while they're still warm and the chips are gooey!

ReplyDeletePink Saturday is amazing, isn't it? I never would have guessed. And, to think I just started posting something pink on Saturday because I was tired on Friday nights. I needed an easy post, and posting a picture of something pink was easy.
Those cookies look wonderful and comforting.
ReplyDeleteKim at Daisy Cottage is my most favorite blog, too.

ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a warm-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookie...although I'd take mine with a glass of cold milk!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made those porcupines in a long time. You'll need to give us your recipe. Nothing is better than chocolate chip cookies warm from the oven. Mimi

Oh, that does sound like a perfect day! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and saying such lovely things. Sweet of you to do that. I noticed you live in NC--I do as well. I travel in my job, though, and am on the road all fall, so your description of the day in good old NC today made me nostalgic! Sounds like a glorious NC day. Your photo is so inviting too.

The green berries are from a holly bush that hasn't turned red yet and the others with a touch of red are from a nandina bush.
