Today I am thankful for good health. One of our friends recently found out he has cancer in the esophagus. My daughter in law's aunt who is only in her 50's has been diagnosed with a type of dementia that progresses very rapidly. One of my very best friends is having some tests done and it's not conclusive yet but they are suspecting MS.
One day all of these dear people were healthy, and the next they were faced with a serious diagnosis. So I want to be thankful for and appreciate my good health today and not take it for granted.
There are others participating in Thankful Thursday and you can visit them by clicking on the daisy on the right. Take time to visit them if you can. I know they'd appreciate it.
What are you thankful for today?
Rhondi xo
I am certainly thankful for my good health, and the health of my family! You are right, I am sure we all know many, many people who are suffering right now with serious healthy problems. Good health is not to be taken for granted! I am also thankful for the love and happiness of family, for a loving church, and the smell of autumn leaves:>) Lots of little things make me just say "thank you Lord!"
ReplyDeleteOur health is such an important part of our life. Such a good reminder Rhondi. I have my thankful post up this morning. Happy Thankful Thursday.

This is a beautiful Thankful Thursday post, Rhondi. There are so many things we take for granted, but we must take the time to be thankful for all of those things we are blessed with. I love these reminders. I wish you a beautiful day!!
ReplyDeleteDon't we all take our health for granted until bad health touches someone close to us? I am thankful for my good health and the good health of my family...Mimi
ReplyDeleteI will remember your friend and family in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has to go to the hospital next Wednesday. He has had a stent in his left carotid artery for two years now and it is almost closed. The doctor is going to place a stent inside the existing stent. If all goes well he will be released by noon next Thursday. So thankful for the wonderful doctors and wonders of modern medicine.
Take care, Patricia

My son is already 35 and my daughter 31, you know so I had expected to be a grandma for some years. But I waited and waited en nothing ever happened. And now, after trying for almost a year it is finally so far. By the end of next april, my son and his girlfriend are giving me this very, very preacious gift!! I am sot thankful and grateful for this.
Very often my Thursday thankful is all about my health and the health of my family and friends. It's one of the most important things. I know God has been very good to us to keep us as healthy as we are.
ReplyDeleteRhondi,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your friends and the health issues they are facing.
I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and although it's a very painful disease and dibilitating, I always try to remember there are people so much worse off than I am.

ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi,
ReplyDeleteMy apologies, i didn't make it again this week, i was away for a training.
We are thankful for our health too. Every Sunday at church we have to pray for so and so because of illness. Good health is wealth, indeed.
Blessings,
nance
I'm also thankful for good health - for me, and for my husband! I'm also thankful we have our Lord to pray to for comfort during times of illness.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to find your email address, I have a question for you. If I can't find it, please contact me at sunnifl@gmail.com
Thanks!
Katherine
I am thankful for a job that I love; my good health and the health of my life partner; good health in my children and grandchildren; and the normal rhythm of a normal day. I have learned to have gratitude for days that some would find boring; days that are uneventful; days when there is not really anything to worry about. When I get cranky, I go right to my gratitude list.
ReplyDeleteYikes! That really is scary how quickly things change! Since my diagnosis of diabetes, I am even more diligent about my good health and am VERY serious about my new lifestyle changes! I figure that just because they say that things start falling apart after 50, this doesn't have to apply to me if I am taking the best care I can of myself!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep your friends in my good thoughts.
