with teacups all around the edge.
This is the finished quilt. It's not a very good photo, but I don't have it anymore to take a better one.
Here's another shot of it.I just counted and this is quilt number 27: 7 were small quilts, the rest were large ones. I've given away 14 to my family and friends for weddings, anniversaries, new babies, graduations, thank yous, plus for cancer patients and sick children through the cuddle quilt program at my local quilt guild. I have 6 others on the go in various states of completion and a whole bunch of ideas still in my head. Quilting is my passion!
Right now I am working on a quilt for my granddaughter made with all the dresses she's outgrown. So I'm going to get my cup of tea and sit down at the sewing machine again.
I hope you find something to do this weekend that you can enjoy as much as I enjoy making quilts.

What a fun quilt! It's so cheery and bright. It has a Mary Engelbreit look to it with those fabrics. I wish I lived close enough to take your class. I need to get busy and finish some long overdue quilts! One needs to be done before my youngest grandson grows up!

Hi again, Rhondi
ReplyDeleteI've been away for a few days, but have enjoyed this morning's catch-up on your doings. That quilt is truly cheerful! I have a real fondness for tea cups and tea pots, so it made me smile. One of my favorite ever cross stitches was a tower of tea cups, teetering one on tup of the other. If you ever feel like stitching teacups just let me know and I'll send you the pattern.
I am just amazed at the work you do. The quilt is spectacular, just as all the quilts you have shown have been! Is this one at the quilt shop now?
ReplyDeleteI love teapots Rhondi and this one is just so cute! What a fun class this will be. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi...when I see something as beautiful as these quilts that your hands have made, I want to kick myself for never learning this art...My grandmother was a quilter...had a frame suspended to the ceiling in her old house and EVERY stitch was by hand. Your heirs must be mighty thankful for you! ;-) Bo

You have a wonderful eye for color. In all the quilts of yours that you have shared with us, that is what I first notice. What a wonderful gift to share with others! A secret angel at church made a flannel patchwork for me in fall fabrics. I will share it later in a post.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Rhondi.

First, I love the new red heading on your blog. I love red. That quilt is amazing. The teacups all around the edge are really cute. I am not a quilter, but being Heidi's Mom, I know the work that goes into them. Wonderful.
