A New Day Begins

Monday, the beginning of a new week. The washing machine is running, the dishes are done and I'm on my way out the door to do some errands. But before I get busy I just want to stop for a moment and appreciate the start of this new day.

I love the way the sun shines through the trees in the morning and highlights the leaves in my planters.
The sun makes wonderful shadows on the terra cotta strawberry planter
The sun peeks through the trees, lighting up parts of the deck.
It looks like a giant flashlight beaming down and I recall my favorite verse, "This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Wait, what do I see? Do you see it?
Come a little bit closer..
closer...
There it is! Isn't this spider web amazing?
Well enough of this chit chat. I've got things to do, places to go. Hope this is a great Monday for you!

  1. Great photo shoot Rhondi. You took some things we take for granted, such as shadows the sun makes, and helped us to stop and appreciate the beauty.
Thanks for taking the time to photo and post this!

  8. God certainly makes some superb weavers! I love all your sunbeam shots. I spied your beautiful begonia--one of the angel wings? My begonias are like my babies to me. Thank you for sharing!

  9. I haven't ever see a spider's web like that, I wonder what type resides in it? Your deck reminds me of the lodge we stayed in, in the rainforests of Australia. I would love a deck like yours. x

  12. What a great picture of the spider web. A couple years ago we were driving south out of LaCross, WI shortly after sun-up and saw the most amazing sight. Suddenly there were all these circles on the right side...the west. It took a moment to realize that it was hoar frost on the spider webs and the sun was shining on them. I think it was about 10 miles of that spectular sight. How I wish we would have had a camera along. Thanks for the reminder!

  14. I'd be envious of your hammock except it is 109 on my deck right now - 4:00 sun time! I don't ever remember it being that hot here. And dry. Still no rain but at least the new pump is working and we can water again. God is good, all the time! Blessings, marlene

  17. Sunshine is one of those things that is so easy to take for granted in summer but it is so very much missed in the dreary days of winter. Morning sunshine is the best though isn't it?

  18. The sun shinning through the trees is just beautiful. I adore that spider web. One day I spent about 15 mins just watching a spider spin it's web. Just when it was about finished I killed it.... Just kidding! I did watch it but I let it stay there alive waiting for it's next dinner. LOL
