Thankful Thursday

Today is the day when I take a moment to be thankful. There are other bloggers joining me today. Just click on the Thankful Thursday button on my sidebar on the right where I have listed them. It is such a blessing reading what others are thankful for, so I hope you have time to visit them. If you want to join us and post what you're thankful for each Thursday, just let me know and I'll add you to the list. Today I am thankful for the word of God. Years ago when I had little or no faith I thought that the bible was boring, restricting, out dated, and definitely not relevant for me in this modern age we are in. But once I put my faith and trust in God, I began to see what an amazing book it is and how it is able to speak to everyone, down through the generations.

When I am needing guidance: "I am the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you and directs you in the way you should go." Isaiah 48:17

When I am tired: "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. " Matthew 11:28

When I am worried: "Do not worry about anything but instead with prayer and thanksgiving , make your requests known to God and the peace that transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and mind." Philipians 4: 6&7

Sometimes when I am I am especially concerned about our finances , I will just "happen" to read Matthew 6: 25-34 "do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or what you will wear...your heavenly Father knows that you need them." God is even concerned about what I will wear!

I could go on and on.

So, today I am thankful for God's word. What are you thankful for today?

  8. Hi Rhondi, I'm thankful today for wonderful memories of our days as next door neighbors as we followed hard after HIM. So thankful that He has never left us or forsaken us and that this is "Jammin With Jensen" Thursday again where we can take Him as healer, God of signs and wonders & miracles to pray for those he sends to our table for His touch!
    Blessings & a Hug, Dottie

  28. I agree! Scripture is so amazing. It seems to be alive, the way it reaches into my brain/soul and pulls out thoughts in conversation with God.
That sounds weird to write it in words, but I do believe it!
