Julie & Julia

Happy weekend.
We went to see Julie & Julia last night. What a delightful movie! It's about a young woman who writes a blog about making every recipe in Mastering The Art Of French Cooking.
Meryl Streep is amazing as Julia Childs. You can click here if you'd like to see the trailer. (You'll have to click pause on my playlist first, so the music doesn't interfere).
The women definitely outnumbered the men at the show, but my husband enjoyed it too.
Today I spent quite awhile trying to rearrange our small bedroom to make it feel larger. In the end, nothing really worked so it's back to the way it was before, but at least it's cleaner!
Hope you're enjoying the weekend.

  1. I have to go see this! I love Meryl Streep, anyway, and I know she'll be fantastic in this movie! Thanks for sharing this, Rhondi!Glad you got your bathroom cleaned...I do the same thing, only to put things back where they were, but it's nice to see the end results of a clean bathroom! Have a wonderful week-end!

  2. I haven't heard on Julie & Julia bu it does sound good.

We have 2 bedrooms but use the second one as a dining room so the only real bedroom is ours - guess what- it looks like a spare room!

    love, Angie, xx

  12. I'm glad to hear good things about this movie. I adore Meryl Streep. She can transform herself in to almost anyone! I read the article in Ladies Home Journal~an interview with Meryl Streep & Amy Adams and it was very sweet. They are on the cover. Now~to see the movie!! Soon, I hope.

I have given up on changing my bedroom, the furniture is too big and heavy and the room too small. That leaves me more time to recreate recipes from cookbooks!!

  13. Hi Rhondi, I'm back from the big trip to Calif. and the western states - great time but sure is good to be home!

Thanks for the link to the trailer and the review. I've been waiting for this one after reading Julia's biography which I loved. I know I will love the French venues in the movie.

Hope you are having a good Summer.
    Hugs - Mary.

  14. I am reading the book now and can't wait to see the film!! Our bedroom looks a bit of a store room, same as Angie's. They don't have basements over here to store things in, we just have to stick it all wherever it is out of sight. The bedroom is usually the best place.

  15. How many times have we all done the rearrange game, maybe it's our eyes way of telling us we could clean it up a bit...Of course in doing that I always have left over pieces..what to do with the overflow???

  17. I am just dying to see this movie. It will not be out here for a while and then even longer before it is on DVD. I never to go the movies. I saw the first of the trailers out about a month ago and it just looked great.

  22. My Mom would rearrange furniture in our living with each season. I did the same thing except here.

Our Living room is big, but you just cannot move things to look and feel right. In fact I am going to give it another try next month when I shampoo the carpets. I think my only chance is to buy new furniture. Just wished I could, maybe in a couple of years and than I will buy a smaller sofa and tables.
