Bonjour. I missed you! We were away this weekend. Do you know where this is?DSC08131

We went on a Duck Tour

We walked around a college campus.

Did you guess Boston? The first photo is of the finish line for The Boston Marathon and the college is Harvard.

But we didn’t go to sightsee. We went to visit our son and his wife and to go to a baby shower for them. They are having a boy and they have chosen orange and blue for his room. They like very contemporary style, so this is the quilt I made for them. They loved it.

Their baby is due the end of November and we are so excited. It's their first baby and our 4th grandchild.

The “BONJOUR” teapot was something I purchased for only $3 when I went to some of the shops in Monroe which I posted about here.

Now I’m off to see what y’all have been up to while I’ve been gone.

Rhondi xo

  1. Hi Rhondi! Oh, congratulations on your grandbaby to be in November! I'm sure the shower was just wonderful. I'm going to be a grandmother for the first time and the baby is due in March! We're so thrilled! Oh, this is fun isn't it?
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia :)

  2. Your quilt is stunning. This will be such a treasured keepsake. Congratulations on the new grandchild. Such a blessing. Hugs, Marty

  3. A handmade quilt is so special. It is perfect for the new baby. My grandmother made one for my first. Grandma is gone now and that baby has a teen of her own, but I still treasure granedma's quilt. I know they will too.

  4. A Grandbaby! How exciting! I love how you made that quilt look modern with the squares yet homey and comfy. I'm sure they will treasure it always!

  5. Rhondi,

I can see why they were pleased with the quilt. Their colors and style, all sewn with love!! You have heard it before but I think you are just so creative and talented!!

I toured Harvard years ago. I had planned to go to Boston College and spent some time on the East coast getting the feel of it. It IS so beautiful, isn't it!!

    Congratulations on grandchild #4!!

  16. Hi Rhondi,
Your teapot is pretty cute with the rooster on it. The quilt is very nice and I'm sure will look wonderful in the baby's room. Just stopping by to say hello and to thank you for your visit. Enjoy your evening.

  17. What a pretty, brightly colored quilt! The baby should love it! Congratulations. I have two grandkids of my own. My little grandson loves to cook (he's almost six). I've been shopping for a chef's hat for him! Oh, it's so much fun to send them things in the mail! Especially if you don't get to see them very often.

  18. Rhondi, congratulations on another grandchild. How exciting! Thanks for sharing another one of your quilts. You are so incredible! This one is a delight and something that your grandson will have to through the years. I can see him cuddling under this beautiful quilt as he grows from little boy to teen to grown man. What a gift! ~ Sarah

  19. Rhondi, me again! Just spent some time visiting more of your quilt posts. What a visual treat. How long have you been quilting? Do you quilt some each day. I'm amazed at how many quilts you have made, and each one a master piece. I wish I had your drive! ~ Sarah

Thank you so much for stopping by and saying hi! I love your quilts. Your blog is outstanding and I will be following it.

I am a quilter as well but the blogging has gotten in the way!!!

  23. Hi Rhondi,
I love Boston, I have been there once and really enjoyed myself. Your quilt is beautiful and so full of love. How wonderful to be celebrating a new grand-baby.

  26. Welcome home, Rhondi - I'm so glad you were able to get away for the weekend and be a part of the shower for your new grandbaby. How exciting! Congratulations - I can't wait to see him when he arrives. We were away over the weekend, too, but not for such a sweet event! My sweetheart went hunting on the opposite side of our state and Joey and I went with him. It was cold but fun to be with family and friends again. ~Adrienne~

  27. Congratulations, we've had three this year, there's nothing so sweet. I love the quilt and more importantly the parents do, that's great. You find the best treasures, honestly talk about lucky.

  28. Love your gorgeous quilt, Rhondi! The pattern is really sporty looking to me. Congratulations on your new grandson...he is going to be wowed by his new quilt that grandma made for him! Those are truly boy colors! I love your blue and white rooster teapot, too!
