Mosaic Monday

Hello my dear friends.

We just got back from spending Thanksgiving with our newest  grandson, Spencer.  There are always so many things to be thankful for, but when you have a new baby in the family, everything else fades into the background.

Every Monday Mary at Little Red House hosts a Mosaic Monday, so I'm joining in with her today, showing this collage of Spencer at two weeks old.  That is our daughter holding him, not his Mom.  Right now he is the cutest baby in the entire world and one of the top 4 cutest babies ever born!  Our other 3 grandchildren were the cutest baby ever when they were born too!

Now that Thanksgiving is over we all start the mad dash toward Christmas.  Only 25 days to go. 

My TO DO list is a mile long, but I am determined to simplify Christmas this year. I'm sure many of you wish to do the same.

I haven't forgotten about the One Thousand Gifts, but I plan to go back to posting Thankful Thursday and write about them then.  If any of you would like to write Thankful Thursday posts again, let me know and I will have a Mr Linky for you on Thursday.

A Gift and a Miracle

Here he is gift # 62, Spencer Andrew, born Saturday November 14 at 6:17 PM, 7 lbs 7 oz. Perfect in very way. Aren't babies a miracle?

As soon as we heard the news that our daughter in law was in labor we got in the car and drove to Boston stopping overnight at my cousin's in Philadelphia. We knew we probably couldn't get there in time for his birth but at least we'd be there shortly after.

Well little Spencer waited until Grandma and Grandpa arrived and I was able to hold my newborn grandson. What a thrill!! This is our 4th grandchild and each time is just as exciting as the last one.

So I am continuing on with my Mulitude Monday One Thousand Gifts posting a day late.

Gift # 63-holding my new grandbaby, 64- new life, 65- look of joy on my son's face, 67- warm feeling of that little bundle of joy in my arms,68-I now have 4 grandchildren,70-soft cheeks, 71-little baby noises, 72, newborn baby smell, 73-healthy baby.

Charles Dickens said, "It is not a slight thing when they who are so fresh from God, love us."

Dear little Spencer, you are a gift and a miracle. You have stolen my heart and I am one blessed Grandma!

Good and Tired

What a blessing grandchildren are! These are our three, twin boys aged 3 and a 5 year old girl. They look so cute with their backpacks walking up to the entrance at preschool. I have been in Texas for the past week looking after them while my son and his wife went up to Canada for her grandpa's funeral. It was non stop activity: school, ballet classes, a birthday party, puzzles, games, reading stories, trips to the park, the mall, Wendy's, church, bath time, spilt milk .... and lots of hugs and kisses mixed in!
So today I am "good and tired", meaning I am tired in a good way!
I'm wondering what y'all have been doing this past week, so I'm going to be stopping by for a visit today. See you soon!

The Best Week Ever

I've just had the best week ever!
I've missed visiting with you and I was going to invite you to stay for a cup of tea today. But since we've had the grandkids here all week if you came today I am afraid I would just be one of those grandma who go on and on and on about their grandkids. So rather than do that, I'll just show you one picture of them in their pajama's. Don't you just love kids in the jammies when they are all bathed and ready for bed? They are clowning around in the 3 little chairs.

A Grandmother's Prayer

Oh Lord, I do not ask for much,

Eternal beauty, or youth, or such.

Just give me a little hand to hold,

And I'll forget that I'm growing old.

I do not ask for cloudless skies,

A life that's free from tears and sighs.

Just give me a little face to kiss,

As little hands that reach and touch,

As little eyes that search and see

Only the best in fragile me?

Home Again

Hi blogging friends
I am home after a week in California and a week in Texas with the grandkids. The bluebonnets in Texas are so beautiful, but not as beautiful as my grandchildren. Thanks to all of you who left a comment while I was away. It will take me awhile to read all your blogs I missed while I was gone, but I'll get to you eventually!
Missed you all. I had a wonderful time but it's always good to be home again.

Thankful Thursday

Happy Valentines Day.

Every Thuursday I like to take the day to think about what I am thankful for. Today I am thankful for my grandchildren. They are the CUTEST,SMARTEST, MOST TALENTED ADORABLE PRECIOUS grandchildren in the world and I love them so much!! Funny how every grandparent thinks that. It's because it's true of course!

The boys are twins, but look nothing alike!

Now you've got to admit they are pretty cute. Their mother, our daughter in law, is the greatest mother ever and I'm very proud of her and of the awesome job she is doing of raising our grandchildren. So I'm thankful to her for that and also for giving us these wonderful kids. Now if they weren't 1,000 miles away....

Going to Florida

We are heading off to Florida for a week, so you may not hear from me for a few days. Here is a picture of our grandaughter her first Christmas. I made the little outfit for her and her mom took this picture. I just love it. Doesn't she look just like a little doll. She's 3 now but still just as cute!! I'll talk to you in a few days.
