Anatomy of a Quilt

Good morning friends.
I think you know that I am passionate about quilting. I am getting ready to go to a quilt workshop and have been spending lots of time in my studio, so I thought I'd show you what I have been doing.
This is how I make a quilt. First I need something to inspire me. My inspiration is this book. I choose lots of fabric from my stash.
and more fabric. The more color the better!!
Organize and pick some favorites.
Then begin to make some blocks.
and more blocks.
To be continued. Stay tuned.
Hope you have a great day today and that the sun is shining where you are.

  1. Hi Rhondi,
I am just catching up with a lot of past posts. I can understand how such beautiful fabrics and colors can inspire you -- can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Love your sunrise photos -- glorious!

  2. Hello Rhondi,

All those colours cheer me up! It looks GOOD!

    Greetings, Carolien

  3. I am writing to you while listening to the song wonderful world. Great song.
I was reading your blog about your journal also. It reminded me so much of my sis-in-law. She is always writing things down in her journal and she said the same things. She also uses the $1 notebooks.
I also wrote about a sunrise this AM and it really did make it feel like a wonderful day.

  4. OK, I'm gonna let you teach me to make a quilt here....I know it is easier said than done when you say "start making blocks"!! :)
    hugs, bj

  5. My Mom quilted...there is so much that goes into it from start to finish. I am going to have fun stopping by here and going through the stages with you!

Love the fabrics you are using..

  6. What a cheerful quilt this will be Rhondi! How can you feel like anything but sunshine with these colors. Was the sun shining this day or did you make your own? :)

    Hugs ~

Thanks so very much for taking the time to leave a comment. I always read every one. I am glad you stopped by for a visit. Hope you'll come again!
