Thankful Thursday

Even when things are going badly there are still so many things to be thankful for, some big, some small.  Taking the time to list what I'm thankful for always puts everything into perspective for me.

As I mention in my profile, faith family and friends are the most important things in my life.  This Thankful Thursday post is about those three things.

Faith:
I am thankful for Elevation which is the church I go to.  I just got back from an early morning leaders meeting and it's so exciting to be part of something bigger than myself which is having an impact on the city of Charlotte.

Family:
I am thankful for our 2 married sons and the wonderful woman they married.  I am thankful for the 4 granchildren they have given us.  I am thankful for our other son and daughter, who live close by and we are able to see a lot.  I am thankful to be able to say that I am proud of the fine adults they've all turned out to be.

Friends:
I am thankful for friends, both old and new.   I am spending the weekend with some of my quilting friends and we are going to sew and talk and eat all weekend.  Yesterday I was invited to a lovely breakfast at the home of a new friend I met through blogging.

There are so many more things, but today I will just say I am thankful for these.
What are you thankful for today?

  1. I am thankful for those same three things, Rhondi, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to be able to express this in an open forum... for freedom of speech! :-)

I'm thankful for you and for the fact that you host a day specifically designed for thanks.

And your weekend sounds like fun. I read a few of your back posts, and I am in love with the quilts you made from your friend's husband's shirts. How neat was that! You are so talented!

And I am thankful that I have blogging friends coming to visit in March at which point some of us plan to get together and have a party!

    Happy Thankful Thursday...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  3. I chimed in today, as usual, for Thankful Thursday. I like it because it makes me stop, reflect, and be aware of what I'm blessed with.

Rhondi, where's your pretty dotted background???

  4. Hi Rhondi,
I am thankful for my family too. My hubby is my best friend! I am blessed with three sons, two of them are married with children. My youngest guy is still single and in school. I am thankful for my faith in the Lord, and my good friends also. Seems we have much in common. Thanks for sharing and have a beautiful day. One day I'll participate in this meme too!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  5. Hi Rhondi, I have missed you. I so agree with your thankful post today. I am so thankful for same things in general. Especially when I think of the suffering in Haiti.
I am sad to have lost touch with you. January has been a bit crazy for me.

I love your White Wednesday post. The chair and the rooster are both gorgeous. white is not really my color but I do have some white work pillow cases I adore.

I have started quilting and loving it. I am a novice but willing to learn. I took lessons several years ago for hand quilting. Now I am machine quilting.

Have a wonderful day. I know you are happy making friends and meeting some new blogging friends as well. I too love to do that. Blogging is a great way to meet new friends.
    Hugs, Jeanne

  7. Hi Rhondi
What a pretty photo that is of your desk!
I enjoyed clicking the links on your post - I'll be sure to visit Podso again. Your church's website is amazing. You're lucky to have found such a spiritual home!
Today I'm grateful for friends and for the two legs that propel me on my weekly walk.

  13. Rhondi, I hope to join you on your Thursdays.
I am thankful for my family and the freedom to speak my mind without fear.

We sometimes forget how precious that right is.
