These two prints were in my parent’s bedroom when I was growing up and I always loved them.  Now they are in our bedroom.  They aren’t valuable, and most of the time I hardly notice them. But as I was getting dressed today my eye glanced up and I saw their beauty.  What do you have in your home that you forget to notice its beauty?

Welcome to 31 days of beauty and quotes day 21.

When I saw this saying I knew it was true. I grew up in a tea drinking household. Whenever there was a problem, my mother always put the kettle on for a cup of tea and it always seemed to make us feel better.  Many years ago, my dad died suddenly at the age of 59.  We were all in shock and someone put on the kettle to make some tea.  I can remember one of us saying, “This is the first time a cup of tea has not helped.”

31 Days of Beauty and Quotes Day 20

Welcome to 31 days of beauty and quotes day 20.

I love this photo and this bible verse.

What happened to days  18 and 19 you ask?  Well let me tell you. I am 3  days behind with my 31 day challenge 

When  it comes to discipline, I am very bad so this 31 day challenge has been quite a challenge for me.

But on top of that I decided  to have a shopping fast for the month of October, buying only food or anything absolutely necessary for the whole month. If that weren’t enough discipline for one month, my friend and I decided we needed to lose some weight and are holding each other accountable. My goal is no snacking between meals and eating more healthy. Goodbye  nice comforting bowl of cereal before I go to bed!

What was I thinking trying all these at the same time!? Yikes!  So the shopping is going great and the eating is going well, but I am two days behind on my blog so I’ll just do a couple days in a row here to catch up.

Autumn Tea on the Deck and 31 Days of Beauty and Quotes Day 17

It is one of those perfect fall days.  The sun is shining.  There is a slight breeze. The sky is clear and the air is fresh. As I walked around my garden I snapped some photos.

                                       The leaves on our Japanese maple have started to turn red.

                                                  Leaves are beginning to cover everything.

When I walked out on the deck, our neighbor’s cat Ginger was enjoying herself watching for birds and lizards.  We don’t use our deck much in the summer because of the heat and mosquitoes, but days like today are perfect

Time for a little autumn tea. So I moved another chair over, gathered a couple of cushions and brought my tea outside
