It is a beautiful day here. The kind of day that I'd like to just sit on the porch and read a book all day. When I showed you photos of my front porch a couple of days ago Beverly suggested I have a front porch party. This is a darling porch isn't it? Not mine.So I am going to use Beverly's idea and host my First Annual Front Porch Party, next Thursday June 5.
All you have to do is leave a comment on any post between now and then. Then on June 5, post photos of your front porch and my post that day will include links to all your blogs so we can all visit eachother. If you don't have front porch, feel free to show us your "dream" porch!
I have posted a picture on the side which you can use to tell others about it. Hope lots of you will join in on the fun and tell all your friends.
By the way did you know that today is Hug Your Cat Day?
Have a great weekend.
Great idea!!! :-) And, you know I want to participate. I'm so excited that you are doing this. I will post a link on my blog tomorrow.ReplyDelete
I love front porches.
These American porches are so wonderfull.I always wished for one but here in Belgium people don't have porches. I feel this as a big miss. They give a friendly face to a house.
Have an nice weekend
Forgot to ask. What is this about "a hug your cat day"??? Never heard of it before. Love the idea but actually I hug my cats every day!!ReplyDelete
Hi Rhondi, I am so there my friend!...What a lovely idea!!!...I will let people know on my blog as well what you are doing!...Have a lovely weekend!...Heidi :)ReplyDelete
That is a wonderful idea~ too many people don't appreciate the lure of the front porch :-)ReplyDelete
Is it really? "Oh, girls! Miz Rhondi says I have permission to hug you today; don't give me that look- hugs are good for you!" Obviously, I have a couple squirmy cats- they love pets & scritches on the chin, but hugging is low on the tolerance grid :-P
Oh what fun Rhondi! I will send you a photo...but how? Where to?ReplyDelete
PS I only have a virtual cat, but will sned him a hug!
Please count me in! I think Beverly had a great idea. Now I have to run and put it on my calendar or my pre-menopausal brain will forget!ReplyDelete
Sounds like fun!! I have a very small little porch. We don't have big porches where I live.
I love that porch you posted. This should be a fun party! I really don't have much of a porch. It's more like a strip of patio in front. Can we show decks? It's kind of a side porch, lol.ReplyDelete
Great Idea! I am going to try to participate. My front porch is really my front deck, but I will try to spruce it up. I am going to mark this on my calendar.. and grab your link and post it so others will know...
This sounds like a wonderful idea Rhondi. KarenReplyDelete
What a lovely idea! I would love to join in.ReplyDelete
What a wonderful idea. Unfortunately front porches are not common in Northern Germany. I can just partipate with a picture of our roofed front door...ReplyDelete
Ulrike from Küchenlatein
Count me in Rhondi!! I can't wait to participate!ReplyDelete
Hi Rhondi, Bea here. First time I've visited your blog, thanks to the link I found at Marie's Oak Cottage blog. The front porch party sounds inviting. I'd really love to come to your front porch, though! I don't have a real porch, one that anyone can access from the outside. Mine is a front deck, overlooking our front yard. But it's a quiet place to stand or sit and talk with my husband or friends. I'll participate! And I invite you to come visit me anytime you have a few minutes. Welcome to my neighborhood! beaReplyDelete
Will you tell me how to send you a picture, please? I cant use the e mail link, my computer wont let me. Is it a hopeless cause?!
I'm going to attempt to do the Front Porch Party! I'll post the picture tomorrow.
What a great idea! Love that porch in the photo. Good thing you said it isn't your porch. LOL, I was on my way over! ;-) So glad you came by this week to enter my give away. Will be drawing soon, and so glad I came by your delightful blog. Great to meet you. Have a super day! :-)ReplyDelete
What a gorgeous front porch. Our apartment doesn't have one, well, a tiny stoop actually. I did a recent post on front porches;ReplyDelete

This is a wonderful idea! We don´t have porches in Sweden like You have but I will post a picture of the front of our house...although the "porch" is in dreadful need of restoration! It will be replaced by a glassporch...when we have the time!
You can se one of our cats in a number of pictures in my latest post

Hi Rhondi, Great idea!! I love a porch party. When I was growing up we would be on the porch every evening with neighbors stopping over to chat and sometimes we would have a sing along. Great fun on the porch. See you Thursday.ReplyDelete

What a lovely blog! I found out about you at Marie's... If anyone would like to visit on June 5th, I will be glad to see them. LouiseReplyDelete
What a great idea! We are headed to the beach on June 5th but we live on our front porch in the summer. I may post the day before and share our view from the porch. While our porch is great, our neighbor's blue-haired pot lady is so cute...I just have to share.ReplyDelete
I would love to join your porch party. Count me in. Great idea!
See you thursday.
Hi Rhondi, nice to *meet* you! I found your lovely blog via Life On Bonnie Lane. The porch party is an awesome idea! That yellow porch is gorgeous, but so is your brick one. I love your porch floor, and neighbor Norman is a hoot. (Dontcha love that name, lol!)ReplyDelete
Nice post about your sister, she is so pretty. Reminds me of someone.
Is that blue and white tea set in your sidebar yours? I love it, do you know the pattern?
I just loaded photos of my home and porch this week. It will look much different in a few weeks~
This is fun - you know how much I love my little porch!ReplyDelete
I've posted a link to you so hope a lot of people join in Rhondi. Should see some lovely porches - so appropriate for June when outdoor living really begins to take off.
Enjoy the weekend - Mary.
Hi Rhondi, this sounds like fun. I just discovered your blog through Penny at Lavender Hill Studio. I posted a link to you and love all the inspiration you give. Have a Blessed Day. BonnieReplyDelete
Hello Rhondi - happy Sunday. I'm Angie and I came over from Marie's Oak Cottage. I've made a note on my calendar to post a photo of our front porch (well, front door really) on 5th. What a lovely idea! Is this really Hug your Cat Day? Can it be for dogs too?ReplyDelete
Hi Rhondi, I would love to particpate in your Front Porch Party .I will Post Photos then.ReplyDelete

I am hoping that sometime this summer, all of us NC girls can get together. So far,I have counted 6 of us.I am sure that there are more.
I really enjoyed looking at your blog, you take such wonderful pictures!!I looked through the whole thing this morning!!
Hi Rhondi, What a fun idea. Since my deck is my "front porch" I'll use a picture of it. Thanks for hosting the party.ReplyDelete

I'm in Front Porch Day, June 5th. Can't wait to join in the fun.
Thanks for including me, I'm in...I'm in!!!!
OOoh, this sounds like fun! I'm afraid my little cottage (i.e. split entry) has a side deck rather a front porch, but it's still the place where everyone gathers to sit, relax, and enjoy the summer days, so I'd say it's a porch at heart! See you all on the 5th!...DonnaReplyDelete
What a great idea!!! My mom keeps telling me I have to come see your blog and I am finally visiting.. and just in time for an awesome porch party!! :) xo!ReplyDelete

Super idea, Rhondi, please count me in! Won't be able to show my own porch as we don't have one (no-one does, really, over here) but I'll be sure to show the porch of someone very special to me :-)ReplyDelete

Count me in! :) Thank you! Glad to have found your blog, by way of Across the Pond.ReplyDelete
Hi! I don't really have front porch, it's more like an entry way. Could a backyard balcony count? Or would that be for another "party"? ;-)ReplyDelete
Yes I am going to join in the Front Porch Party on June 5th. I have a front porch although I like my back porch better! Thanks for the comment back.
What a great idea Rondi! Sign me up!ReplyDelete
Love your blog, btw. And yes, that porch is dreamy.
I'm definitely adding you to my Sassy Girls list!
I'll be waiting for you on my front porch (we refer to ours as our Front Veranda) on Thursday!! I'm new to this, so I hope I don't blow it. What fun.ReplyDelete
Hey, Rhondi...I got my computer fixed and just in time, I see, for a PAR-TEEEE !ReplyDelete
I will TRY to get my porch all up and lookin' good for your sweet party. I don't garden and therefore don't have pretty flowers (too hard to raise in this dry, windy climate) but I can make my spot look pretty good anyway. So, I will post on the 5th; pls. link me!
Hi Rhondi, I just found out about your porch party. Sounds like fun! I still need to gingerbread my porch up some but I'd still love to join your party. Count me in!ReplyDelete

I found out about the porch party from Beverly (and about 100 others LOL) and I would love to participate.
I would like to be a part of your porch party....porches are so important to family life.....Betty
I love the front porch party. I have a victorian house that was built in 1900 and the front porch is my favorite place. We have a gazebo on the end of the porch and thats were my porch swing is. I'll take pics today.ReplyDelete

What a fun and exciting idea to share our porches. Well, mine is tiny but so cute. I'm super excited to share something that my middle son just made for me for Mother's Day and I just finished it up over the weekend. I added a few of my treasures to it and the neighbors are loving it. I'll take a pic and have it for all of you to see tomorrow.ReplyDelete
Here is "my" photo of an antebellum porch!ReplyDelete
How beautiful. My porch party is June 21. Thanks for the inspiration. Your music is wonderful. My daughter used your choice of music for my husband's and my 50th wedding anniversary a few weeks ago. Your light is shining - keep up the good work.ReplyDelete
