Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving it's just the four of us. Only 2 of our kids are able to be here. Even so I still like to make the table look pretty and festive. I polished the silver plate serving dishes. Polished the brass candlesticks Got out the crystal.Starched and ironed the napkins. I found these at a garage sale and they had our initial on them! I set the table with the good china that belonged to my mom. Picked some berries and holly for the center of the table.Lit the candles. And everything sparkles!Tomorrow there will be turkey and all the trimmings. We have so much to be thankful for.

  15. Hi Rhondi,
It's been a while since I came by for a visit, for some reason your blog was missing from my AOL favorites list. Now I've got you on my blog list.
Your Thanksgiving table looks so elegant! I see you bought the adorable plates I saw at Dollar Tree the other day. I didn't buy any but plan to go by & buy some if they're not all sold out.
Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!
    Blessings,
    Carol

  25. Happy Thanksgiving, Rhondi - I loved seeing your gorgeous table. Everything is so beautiful and festive. We are going to have a bit of a change this year. No men! My sweetheart is still elk hunting on the opposite side of the state, our son is winging his way to Cambodia as I write this, our son-in-law can't be here either. So it will be my dear mother, our daughter, our daugther-in-law, four grandsons, one granddaughter (one is out of town) and me. Just the girls and kids! We should have a lot of fun. I'm keeping things real simple and changing from linen tablecloth and napkins to things a bit more kid friendly but festive and in keeping with the season.

When I count my blessings, you are on the list!

  30. Hey Rhondi,
I guess you know I am from the south. (Hey!) I think we are actually neighbors.
Love the red wall in the dining room! Really want to paint mine soon. Love the candles too!
My family has a tradition of eating with candles and nice dishes at Thanksgiving too. Would you believe I have been married 27 years and never have had china?
    Happpy Thanksgiving!
