Tea Party Tuesday

Welcome to my first Tea Party Tuesday.  I am very excited to have you here and I just know we are going to have a good time. When I was trying to decide which teapot to use  for the first tea party it just seemed right to use my Dainty Blue tea set.

Anyone who knows me in blogland has seen it before and many of you have commented on it, so I knew that is what I wanted to use. I have had this tea set since we were first married and it is one of the few things I own that has any sentimental value.  My aunt gave me a cup and saucer to get me started and by the time I was married I had a whole tea set for 8.  It is English. The manufacturer is Shelley and the pattern is Dainty Blue.  I just love it!  The only places to buy it now are antique shops, Ebay or Replacements China.

I have arranged all the tea things on my wicker tea trolley.
And I made some little cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwiches.  It's important to slice the cucumbers very thin and use the English cucumbers, the ones you don't have to peel.

I have wheeled the tea cart into our living room.
and moved the wing chairs closer together for a cozier setting for us.
Would you like a sandwich?  These look huge in this photo but they are very tiny!

I'll pour you a cup of tea.  milk or lemon?  sugar?   I have a pot of coffee in the kitchen if you'd prefer.

So what's new with you?  I'd love to know what you are up to these days.

Thank you so much for coming to my first Tea Party Tuesday.  It really means a lot to me to have you here and you have made it a special day!  I am excited to come and visit you too!

Rhondi xo

  1. Oh Rhondi...what a delightful tea this is! Your teaset is beautiful and I can tell what a treasure it is to you.
    I love cucumber sandwiches.
It will be wonderful to sit in those comfy stuffed chairs and chat while we are having tea.
I hope you don't mind that I have arrived much too early. If my husband were conming with me we would not be early...he is usually late for everything.
    Thank you, Rhondi.
    Fondly,
    Barbie :)

What a gorgeous tea, and I am loving those chairs so much. Your tea trolley is lovely and I love cucumber sandwiches. I set the table with a berry pie and my husband cut a piece before I could take the photos. OMG! Well, I love this idea, you always host the best parties. Happy Tea Party Tuesday.

  8. What a wonderful teapot...I love the spout! One day in the future I will join in on your tea party but first I have to learn how to do all these things. I'm afraid 'blogland' is new to me and I'm still struggling to add the fancy little things to my own blog. I'll figure it out eventually but for now I'm enjoying looking at my favorite blogs and you are one of them. Thank you for the inspiration! Maura

I am very behind in my blog reading so I just learned of Tea Party Tuesday a couple hours ago. I would love to participate and I'm trying my best to get a post together pronto. If I can't pull it off in time to post in the morning, I will join up next week, for sure!
