Thankful Thursday and OWOH Winner
Before I tell you what I am thankful for today I wanted to announce the winner for One World One Heart giveaway. I used the random number generator this time and the winner is.....
The last giveaway I had was won by another Heidi! Thanks to all of you who entered.
Today I am thankful for the amazing church we go to. We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary and every Sunday there are around 5,000 people in attendance. Our pastor is only 29 years old and is an amazing young man. People are excited to come to church. We bring our neighbors, our co-workers, our friends, our family. This past Sunday the message was about getting involved as a volunteer and over 1,400 people signed up! The pastor's sermons are online every week too. If you want to find out more click here. It is so exciting to be going to a church where people's lives are getting changed, marriages are being restored, teenagers are inviting their friends. If you happen to live near Charlotte North Carolina, I invite you to come.

Tea on the Porch
I've been sewing all morning on part of an applique quilt for our quilt guild raffle. Because I am handsewing it, it has taken me a very long time. I've finally finished it , so I'm going to take a break and make myself a cup if tea.
I've got a blue striped teacup and ...
a plate of my favorite chocolate covered digestive cookies which my sister brought from Canada. I just love them and we can't get them here!
I've set up a tray for tea, and prettied it up with a few daffodils picked from the garden.
It is an absolutely beautiful warm spring day here (sorry for all of you who still have snow on the ground) so I'm going to have my tea outside on the front porch. Maybe I'll read for a little while. After all those years growing up in Canada, it is still unbelievable to me that I can sit outside without a jacket on a February day.

Thankful Thursday
Every Thursday I post about something I am thankful for. This year I decided to write down 5 things I am thankful for before I go to bed each night. The things I write down seem so trite, so small : food, safety, health, provision, a roof over my head etc. But when I really take a few minutes and think about them, they are really big things, which I take for granted. We all do. Even with the economy in turmoil, we are still so much better off than probably 95% of the rest of the world. So today I am thankful for the life that I have, warts and all.
Take a few minutes and visit these blogs. All of them have written about what they are thankful for today. It will encourage you. And if you'd like to join us, just let me know.
What are you thankful for today?

My Talented Sister
When my sister came to visit she brought me a present: a new mailbox that she painted for me! Isn't it bright and cheerful?
She even took off the old one and installed the new one! Aren't I a lucky girl?
I had a wonderful time visiting with my sister. She is a very talented artist, so while she was here I got her to paint a sign for our house. If you've visited me before you may recall that I decided to give our home a name "REST AND BE THANKFUL". Here is the sign she painted for me which I am going to place above our front door.
