Thankful Thursday

Today is Thursday and already 2009 is one week old! I am just now getting into a routine after all the travelling we did in December, so I am doing Thankful Thursday again.

I am re-reading a delightful book called Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach. It really fits in to my aspiration for 2009 to "Rest and Be Thankful"

We are having lots of birds visiting our bird bath lately. If you click on the photos it will enlarge them for you.

Every morning when we wake up we are given a wonderful gift-another day of life. So I'm going to make the most of it today.

I am thankful for today-a blank piece of paper waiting to be written on. I wonder what how the story will play out. I have some plans of what I hope to accomplish, but sometimes plans have a way of getting interrupted don't they?

I am thankful for a day in which I get to choose what I'm going to do today. That is a luxury for most people. I don't have to go to a job I don't like, or interact with people who are negative. I am very blessed and I am thankful.
What are you thankful for today?

Rhondi xo
Since it's been a month since I posted Thankful Thursday I'm not sure who still wants to post Thankful Thursday also. If you let me know I will link to you.
These friends are helping to spread gratitude and thankfulness in blogland today:

  5. Hi Rhondi! My 1st visit to your blog and I will come again soon to read more. Love the idea of Thankful Thursday because it is a great way to start your day, thinking of all the things you are grateful for and sharing them with all these wonderful blogger friends! I will write my post later today. It will be PRETTY long :-)
LUV Simple Abundance. It is my bible. It is dog eared and full of underlining, highlighting and notes. Do you know she wrote it by hand while lying in her bed? Awesome.

    See ya soon!

    xoxo

  7. A lovely list of blessings, Rhondi. You're right - so many people are yoked to jobs that they have to do just to survive. It really is something to be grateful for - doing what you love!

  9. Hi Rhondi!
I too, am (re)reading Simple Abundance this year. I received a great tip from Donna at enchantedcottage.blogspot.com regarding this book. She suggests reading the Joyful Simplicities at the end of each chapter before starting on that month. In other words, the Joyful Simplicities for January comes at the end of the month, but it makes much more sense to read it at the beginning of January as it gives you ideas of things to do during that month. Check it out to see what I mean. Oh, and also, I just posted my very first "Thankful Thursday." I hope you will add me to your list.

  10. Hi Rhondi,
What a lovely blog you have and bluebirds at your bird bath too> How lucky you are. We just moved into our home in August and we saw a few bluebirds. Hope they come back in the spring.
Love the blue china in your header. It looks antique.

  18. All good things. Frequent reminders to be thankful are sometimes needful. I appreciate your gentle promptings.

Won't join you today, but will plan on doing so in the future to cultivate that 'attitude of gratitude' that I want my children to display...so I must model it.

    Blessings on your day!

  19. Hmm...in reading my comment, it sounds like I won't join you in a thankful spirit today. But I am, honest! I'm thankful the creek is still inside its banks, despite the micro-river currently cutting its way through our yard. And I'm thankful the snow is melting, even though its going a bit tooo fast.

What I meant is I won't do a "Thankful Thursday" post today. But starting next week, I shall.

  30. I am a little late for last Thursday, however it struck me that I am truly thankful for the exact same thing as you are! Word for word! :o) If I can sneak a photo of my new blue bird family, I will post it. They are building a home with in a bird house my son built, on a tree not far from my bird bath and bird seed. :o) I am so excited for my new neighbors!

    Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
