Just The Robins And Me

One of the signs of spring is the robin. Today the robins are everywhere, hopping all over our front lawn, perched in the trees, nibbling on berries, chirping happily, and flitting all over the place. I don't know whether this particular group are just passing through or are here to stay, but the sound of their chirping is music to my ears and a sure sign of spring!
Today as I enjoy the robins out the window I am spending the day in my studio starting to design a quilt for a friend of mine. Today I get to enjoy my favorite part of quiltmaking: choosing the color and planning the design. So today it's just the robins and me . (The photos are not mine because I don't have my own computer back yet. )
Hope you have a chance, even for a few minutes, to do something you love to do today.
Rhondi xo

If you are planning on posting for Thankful Thursday tomorrow please let me know today. Thanks!

  1. Oh how I miss the North American harbinger of spring!! We have robins here of course, but they are very tiny and cute as well and here all year round. Here it's the call of the cuckoo that usually tells us spring has sprung!

Have a lovely day choosing your quilt colours. I hope we'll see some photos!

  6. What gorgeous birds. I wonder if they're related to English robins which have a beautiful song but squabble a lot!!

  14. Hi Rhondi,
Loved your Robin pictures. Last weekend I saw a few and was encouraged that spring is here. But alas, today we had an unseasonal snowstorm. Three inches with blowing wind and more falling!
Guess I'll have to postpone my spring planting for awhile....

    Sigh...

  18. Rhondi, My mom is a quilter too... she's 76 and has been quilting since the age of 60. She does all her quilting by hand., and she amazes me. I was fortunate to be the first child (one of 6) to get one since I gave her my colors first. ;) I have it on my post for this past Monday, for Meta Monday. It's a purple/whites/greens and a Dresden Plate pattern. ~CC Catherine ;)
